Low Cost Way to Get 1,000 Workers Today

February 26th, 2008

I’ve spent about 3 hours today trying to come up with ideas for the slogan for a project I’m working on, and I have to admit complete and absolute defeat.

I have no idea why, but for some crazy reason I’ve suffered a complete brain freeze today and have been unable to even get close to the kind of slogan I’m looking to create.

Why is it that sometimes the ideas just flow and then others your brain is like an information black hole?

Don’t worry though as in these situations I have a plan that allows me to leverage the work of 1,000 people or more, without it costing very much at all….

Right now I have over 1,000 people working on the logo and slogan of my new project and it’s costing me only $100.

How? Well I simply contacted my local school and explained that my business is holding a contest with a $50 prize to the student who can create the best logo, and a $50 prize to the student who comes up with the best slogan.

Now think about this for a second…

Simply by engaging with my local school and by offering a small cash prize I’m able to tap into the ideas of more than a thousand people. How nifty is that?!

As part of what has been agreed, EVERY student in the school will have a go at the contest during registration period, and then I will attend the school one day and announce the winners, and briefly talk about my business too.

Now I love this because I really enjoy going back into school, but this also makes great business sense too.

I’ve done something similar to this in the past with my own classes when I was a teacher and always received GREAT answers, so I’m confident that with the whole school taking part I’ll end up with a top class slogan and logo.

Here’s a top tip…

Many schools are really eager to form relationships with local businesses, and if you can offer your time and expertise to do a short presentation, and maybe offer small prize, you’ll be amazed at the amount of talent you can have beavering away for your business.

And it benefits the schools massively too of course…

As a teacher I loved these kind of contests and the kids loved them too. Not only are you getting the ultimate work force on your side for a low price, but you’re also doing a public good too by connecting with a local school and engaging with local children and giving them a taste of real business.

It’s win win, and your local schools will love you for it too!

As a teacher I used to run a Young Enterprise group where I showed a group of 16 year old how to create their own business, and they loved every second. The talent pool within your typical school is huge, and it makes good sense to offer your time and a small prize to the school in exchange for tapping into these incredible young minds.

If you’re like me and you often suffer from draining brain freezes every once in a while, then don’t be afraid to engage with your local schools and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to instantly tap into a creative workforce of 1,000 people are more. And it’s great fun to do too!

Profitable Copywriting Made Simple

February 25th, 2008

Regular readers of this blog will know that I don’t often recommend products sold by others. In fact, even with my thinking cap on I really can’t remember the last time I promoted another product on these pages.

Anyway, I like to make an exception whenever I come across a product that I really like that’s also loaded with value.

About two weeks ago Randy Smith sent me his Sales Letter ABC book to read, and I’m sad to say that I only read it for the first time yesterday.

I get sent loads of books to read, and I usually just don’t have the time. I like to download all the review copies that I get sent, and then when I’m having a bit of a lazy day, or when I’m lacking motivation, I’ll read through them one at a time.

Yesterday I read 8 such books, and without a doubt the pick of the bunch was Sales Letter ABC.

What I really like about this book is how it breaks down the basics of profitable copywriting into 10 easy steps that anyone can follow. It’s written in a positive and friendly way that makes it really easy to follow and understand.

Here’s a disclaimer though. If you’re already earning thousands via the copy that you write then this book probably isn’t for you. If you can already write killer copy then I’d advise you NOT to buy this book.

If however you’re looking for an effective way to learn a simple formula that will allow you to write copy that sells then you might want to check out the sales page by clicking HERE now.

It’s also worth noting that Randy is a pro copywriter who regularly charges thousands for the work he produces. This copywriting roadmap will let you get into his brain for a fraction of the price.

Check it out now by clicking HERE and then don’t be afraid to let me know what you think in the comments below…

Why You Need to Build a List Starting Today

February 21st, 2008

One of the key turning points in my online business was when I discovered the true power of successful list building.

It’s not all about building a list of course, and as I talk about in Project New Web keeping your subscribers happy is just as important too.

But not devoting enough time and energy to list building is one of the biggest reasons why so many people don’t succeed online today.

Below I’ve made a video explaining why list building is crucial and why you need to start today (if you’ve yet to start to build a list then you really need to see this video).

Hit the play button below now.

I hope you enjoyed the video…and please leave your questions or thoughts in the comments below too. :)

Quick Tip to Boost Your Productivity

February 17th, 2008

I’m on major drive to improve my productivity at the moment, as I’m determined to get more work done while spending less time at my PC.

I’m trying a few new things to speed up my performance, but one thing has boosted my productivity like no other, and I really wanted to share…

If you’re reading this and happen to have a desktop AND a laptop, then this tip is for you!

I’ve recently taken deliveryof a new PC, and have set this up in my home office with the laptop beside it.  The advantage of this is I can work on the new PC, but I can also have some applications running on the laptop as well.

This doesn’t sound like a big improvement, but trust me when I say that I’m literally amazed how much more work this allows me to get done.

You can see some pictures below…

Yesterday I discovered a cool tool that makes this setup even more juicy.  It’s call Synergy and it allows you to control two computers with just one keyboard and mouse.

So when you have it running, you can move the mouse off one screen, and it automatically pops up on the other!

The keyboard also changes with the mouse too, so if you navigate to your laptop with your mouse, you will also find that the keyboard works over there as well

If you do happen to have a laptop and a PC then give this a try today.  You’ll be amazed at how much more work you get done in the same period of time!

A Bit Overwhelmed and an Apology

February 16th, 2008

If you’re a Lee McIntyre newsletter reader then you’ll know that yesterday I launched my first ever mentoring program.

I love teaching so I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks.  Because I wanted to start slow and really overdeliver, I decided to just take on 9 clients.

I didn’t mention this in advance to my list, and so when I launched it yesterday I thought I’d receive loads of questions before the sales started coming in.

I knew it would sell fast, but when I say ‘fast’ I thought it might sell out in about 72 hours, and even that felt optimistic.

Well I was WAY off the mark as the final spot was taken in just 3 hours!

Obviously I’m delighted and I can’t wait to get stuck in, but I do feel bad for those who didn’t get to see the offer before it filled up.

If you were interested in the mentoring, but it sold out before you had chance to act, then I really do apologise and I know how frustrating that must be.

Had I known it would go so fast I would have preannounced the launch date to give everyone a fair crack of the whip, so there is definitely a lesson to be learned here, and for that I apologise.

I will be offering another mentoring program in about 3-4 weeks, so if you are interested in this program, then all is not lost!

The reason I’m not taking on any more clients right now is I just want to settle into the new routine first, and I don’t want to over stretch myself while working on other projects.

However, I’m clearing jobs from my desk as we speak, and so I will open up another mentoring program within the month, and I promise to announce the launch date in advance to give everyone a bash at getting in.

If you want to sign up to the notification list you can do that here.  Those on the notification list will get offered the next mentoring packaging 24 hours before my newsletter list as a way of saying sorry for missing out this time.

If you did get in before the doors closed then you should now have your business review document and I cant wait to get started on Monday!

Help Save a Child’s Life

February 14th, 2008

I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know about a very special fundraising drive that is happening right now.

Many children are born with congenital heart defects, and Dr.Mani’s Children Heart Foundation is raising much needed funds to pay for the heathcare to help these children.

Did you know that corrective heart surgery can be completed in India for less than $3,000? I didn’t, but it’s certainly made me think about the impact that we can have with our actions.

Today is  ‘A Day For Hearts’ and Dr Mani is asking for donations of $10 to help save a child’s life.  If you would like to make a positive impact on a child’s life in this way then click here to donate now.

I’m just sending in my donation now, and I hope that others can join me too.

Lee McIntyre Personal Mentoring?

February 13th, 2008

When I recently made a video showing the inside of the my Paypal account I really wasn’t expecting such an incredible reaction. In the video I revealed how I’d earned over $100,000 in my first 7 months in this niche, and this has triggered loads of questions via PM at Standing Start Profits.

At the end of that video I also mentioned that I’d soon be offering a very limited one on one mentoring service…and it’s fair to say this has led to a LOT of people asking me for some details.

Well the orginal plan was to offer this service sometime in March, but because the reaction has been so incredibly positive, and because I’m just itching to get started, I’ve decided to bring things forward a touch.

I’m not going to do a big launch, and I’m not going to do a long build up full of hype. In fact, Im not even going to write a sales letter either!

I’ve simply recorded a down to earth video giving the details. In the next day or so I’ll be emailing this to you if you’re a newsletter subscriber.

I’m only taking on a VERY limited number of clients in this first run though, so if you think you might be interested in what I have to say, keep your eyes on your inbox as I’d hate for you to miss out.

Teaching is what I love, and this is the main reason why I’ve decided to offer this opportunity. The offer will go live in the next day or so, and I can’t wait to see what you think of it (I’m excited!).

More to follow very soon indeed….

Time to Throw the Laptop Out of the Window!

February 11th, 2008

I’ve become increasingly frustrated with my laptop recently. My desktop is ancient so I do all of my work on the laptop, but the more I use it, the more I realise it’s just not upto the job.

It’s a decent spec, but it just doesn’t have enough juice to comfortably handle the amount of work I throw at it per day. For example, it works fine when running one or two programs, but when I have upto 10 memory intensive applications open at once it frequently just gives up and shuts down.

I’ve had enough so today I went crazy and ordered a really nice new Desktop PC!

How I Earned 100K+ In Just 228 Days From Scratch

February 9th, 2008

As a beginner I really didn’t think that it was possible to earn huge amounts online completely from scratch. In fact, I thought most of what I read was hype, and would only work if you had a monster list and loads of JV partners.

Well nothing could be further from the truth….

In the video below I’m going to show you EVERY cash receipt inside my Paypal account so that you see for yourself the earning potential online.

It’s also worth remembering that a few months worth of these results were achieved while I was a stressed out full time teacher, working far too many hours in the classroom.

Hit play now…

I hope you enjoyed the video and don’t forget to leave me a comment below too…

A Weekend of Rest, Fun, Rest, Fun!

February 8th, 2008

After a busy week I think it’s time that I put my feet up for couple of days don’t you?! Well, with that in mind I’m having pretty much the whole of the next few days off work, and instead I’m just going to sleep, rest, and have some fun too.

And I might even leave the house for the first time in a few days as well!

The Project New Web launch has worn me out, and getting up at 4:30am to turn off the special discount was the final blow. :)

Here’s what I have planned for the next couple of days…

This afternoon - sleep and watch Sky Sports News on a loop until I’ve seen every sports story 3 times! I also might dig out an Eric Cantona DVD and watch that.

This evening - off to the cinema with my girlfriend. I’m not sure what to watch, but I like the idea of just travelling down and jumping into whatever takes our fancy

Saturday morning - I’ve made a free video for my list and I’ll send this to them. It’s all prepared though so it’s just a case of pressing a few buttons and then approving the blog comments.

Saturday afternoon - I’m taking my badly neglected girlfriend for lunch and shopping. She has been so supportive, but I’ve been working too hard so it’s time to do something nice and buy her some nice things, and spend some quality time together too. (I hate shopping but I think I’ll have to just close my eyes and hope for the best!)

Saturday night - Absolutely nothing apart from sleep, rest, sleep rest!

Sunday - The highlight of the weekend as Manchester United play Manchester City at Old Trafford. I will be meeting friends for our usual pre match routine of a beer and a burger before going watching the inevitable 5-0 victory. Please don’t unsubscribe if you’re a Manchester City fan!

And that’s it….

No marketing. No JVs. No promotions. Just some rest and relaxation before I come back raring to go on Monday.

And I’ll be in a great mood of course after Manchester United’s derby day victory on the Sunday so expect lots of great content from Lee-McIntyre.com towers on the Monday.

And if we lose? Well, let’s just say it will be best I don’t blog much that day or my negative attitude might cost me a reader or two!

The Best Subscribers in the Business…

February 7th, 2008

The last 7 days have been amongst the busiest I’ve ever experienced. Project New Web has been a huge success, and I’m delighted with how my product has been received by those who have downloaded it.

I often hear a lot of marketers grumble about the support tickets they get, and moaning about the volume of questions and comments as their list gets bigger.

Well let me tell you this…

I speak from the heart when I say that I really do have the best subscribers in the business and I’m seriously touched by the support that they show for me. It’s terrific to see, and it makes me feel so proud about the business that I run.

I’ve had a LOT of support tickets this week, and I’ve been trying to answer all within 12 hours, although I usually can do this faster. When you sell any product in volume it’s inevitable that there will be the odd download issue, or the odd corrupted zip file.

Even though I test everything about twenty times, gremlins still sneak in somehow every now and then!

And do you know what? I’ve been amazed and delighted by how polite and friendly my customers have been, even when they’ve experienced the odd problem such as a broken download link for a product they’ve paid good money for.

I’ve personally looked after my helpdesk the last few days so that I could offer my own support during this busy week, and I’ve loved every minute. While other marketers complain about their grumpy customers who never stop moaning, I’ve faced a helpdesk full of the most polite and appreciative people I could ever hope to meet.

They really do make it a pleasure to do business online.

I guess there’s no real purpose to this post other than to say thank you to my subscribers, and to show my appreciation to a group of readers who are amongst the most bright, motivated, and friendly in the business. They’ve made a challenging week a joy to be a part of and I just want to say thanks…

The Best $137 I Have Ever Spent!

February 4th, 2008

The day before the launch of Project New Web and I was sat uploading the zip files to my server and I had a massive panic. I hadn’t realised until that point, but the whole package was 230 MB of original content, and I suddenly became aware that having a LOT of people downloading this huge package in a short space of time might cause me a problem or two!

I spoke to my host, and outlined my sales and traffic projections, and they were pretty much in agreement that the server wouldn’t be able to cope with the amount of traffic coming their way.

They were pretty blunt about it to be honest, and basically told me that the whole thing would melt very fast indeed if I had 100 people downloading 230 MB worth of content at the same time, together with 6,000+ unique visitors hitting my sales page inside just a few hours.

Luckily I was able to pay $137 and hire a brand new super server to take the weight of the downloads.  The sales page stayed where it was, and the downloads were all hastily moved to the platinum service.

Thankfully everything went well, and the server was super fast throughout and no problems were reported.  I’m glad though that I thought about this issue in advance,  as otherwise I’d have 12 JV partners and 100s of customers all sending me angry emails right about now…

And I would probably have lost a bit more hair too!

Has anyone else had server problems at inconvenient times?  And what did you do to minimise the disruption?  Let me know in the comments below…

Project New Web Update

February 2nd, 2008

Project New Web is now well and truly live and I’m delighted with the results.  The feedback has been incredible, and I’ve already received so many fantastic testimonials too.

I love the sales of course, but it’s the teaching that really excites me, so I’m thrilled by some of the kind words being spoken about my product.  Money and sales do motivate me of course, but that’s really not what makes me get out of bed in the morning.

It’s the satisfaction of helping people achieve their goals that really puts a smile on my face, which is why I’m so delighted that Project New Web is proving such a hit.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of opening my helpdesk and finding an unexpected lovely testimonial!

If you’ve not yet downloaded Project New Web then you can still do so here.  The current price is $77 and will rise to $97 at midnight EST 7th February. And if you have any questions at all I’d be glad to help over at AskLeeMcIntyre.com
