Honestly, I think one of the best "tools" is Open Office. It's free, converts any documents created in it to pdf, with a variety of options, and can import MS Office seamlessly. Great for creating eBooks.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for those tools, some I haven't come across before. I reckon your 28th should be PDF995Suite. Has three tools which not only allow you to convert any document, picture or what-have-you into a pdf but the edit program allows conversion back from pdf to word doc (text only) or html. It also allows you to password protect pdfs, combine pdfs and split pdfs.

Only downside is free version has ads and is a bit slow. So good I bought a licence for the ad-free version.

Can be got at www.pdf995.com.

Enjoy!

Hi Marian

Yeah I prefer Dreamweaver too, but I do like NVU as a nice free back up when I don't want to buy an extra license.

Hi George

That's a nice tip. It's also worth noting that you can also export to a self hosted Wordpress blog too, if the need ever arose.

Hi Brendan

You're spot on of course. A couple of my niche sites get plenty of daily searcg traffic and I haven't touched them for months, and it really does feel good.

Hi Brian

Thanks for the comment and I'm glad to have pointed you in the direction of a couple of new ones.

Thanks everyone for the great comments so far!

Hey Lee,

I've been using many of those tools for my business for a while, however, there were a few "diamonds in the rough".

Thanks for sharing!

All the best,
Brian Jinks

Doing the SEO line dance does have it's tedious moments, but it is satisfying to see traffic flowing in as a result of well place search results.

Thanks for the useful tips, since most of 'em I already know - I agree they're good.

I'd replace NVu with Dreamweaver, though.
