Hi Lee,

Yet another great post!

I think a lot of people focus too much on building a huge list and once they have a huge list they don't know what to do next. Their focus is often on quantity instead of quality.

Fully agree with you that a small list can be much more profitable than a huge list if you work on building relationships and provide your members with valuable content instead of the one sales pitch after the other.

All the best,
Francois du Toit

Some great advice Lee.

All of us get emails daily in our inbox. I delete the majority of them without even opening them. Your never get deleted Lee as I believe you've got a good relationship with me.

I always want to see what you've got to say.

You are 100% correct when it comes to building relationships not lists.

Hello Lee

Excellent points you make. Subscribers know when they are being abused and will quickly unsubscribe.

Many marketers focus 100% on NEW MONEY (new customers)and wonder why things aren't happening. With less effort and more sincerity, they will find their list of subscribers can and will be more responsive and retention will remain high.

Lets all move onward and upward!

Baaaaah! Humbug! That is in recognition of the fact that you are NOT one of the sheep.

Keep on being the bright rainbow among the sea of gray and cloudy Internet marketing "experts".

As usual Lee, you stand out. Your advice is timely too, as I am building a site that is nearly ready to drive traffic to. My niche is a big one but I am going after the aspect you mentioned - adding your personality to the presentation. Your enthusiasm is catchy!

Do you ever fight with yourself when you are writing or speaking? I guess I am at the stage in my business that being a gray triangle looks safer than a yellow box. My heart is a yellow box but I lose heart and write like the rest of the sheep. I have to admit your recent article on believing in yourself was also timely!!

I know this is longish for a comment, but I had to tell you, Lee, that being into the third week of the internship has shown me more about myself than anything else in a long time. I have learned soooo much and believe me, this 40 something mother of 9 thought she knew a whole lot more. For the first time in 30 years, I have had to learn to keep to a schedule and fulfill exacting requirements. I had gotten rather lazy over the years and since I have taken on Internet Marketing, that laziness sort of dogged me. You have given me the opportunity to go back to school, so to speak, and for that I am humbly grateful.

I am ready to be that yellow box, now! Thank you! (feel free to edit for pertinence)

Hi Lee

Thanks for another positive video - I'm just starting out following your advice, though after seeing this video I think I need to ramp things up a bit!

I think one of the things you're pretty good at which you don't really mention is you provide great customer service - you over deliver which is still quite unexpected these days.

Thanks again

Hi Lee

As ususual some great advice, if you don't let people know who you are, and why they should listen to you then you won't get the results you want.

Just out of interest what %age of your list is being made by affiliates who promote your products?

Hi Lee,

I have some questions though, you mention that to stand out it's to get personal with your target users. Would like to know whether does this work wonders for those online retailers? Like selling TVs, Toys, Collectibles not just selling pure e-books.

Can you give some suggestions for these kind of 'real' products business to get more people buying stuffs?

Anyway i really love your ideas about getting personal with your subscribers, do you think is it a good way to stand out by giving weekly review on the items that i sell? (Currently selling toys) as i am thinking of attracting customers to purchase us more often but can't think of any good ways to attract them to my store. Appreciate you can give us some tips. Thanks!

Hi Lee,

Great video...particularly your point about how important it is to stand out from the crowd. When you're starting off, the natural tendency is to model yourself on those you perceive as successful. The end result ofcourse is you just end up being a poor imitation!

Cheers...Graham
