Lee...I'm glad you decided to move your teaching to another arena. Internet Marketers need a lot of support and good advice...that's teaching of one form or another. You are good at it.

I've always followed my heart and never regretted it. I believe you will feel the same, too. Your SSP Forum is fantastic...alive and vibrant...a shining example of your vision.

Hi Lee,

I have only worked as an employee for one year, and during that year I started my first business.

I have been self-employed (or director of my company) ever since and I would never go back to working for anyone else.

I dont think you'll regret doing IM full-time, and you can always go back to teaching in the future if you want and you will then have additional knowledge to pass on to your students from the experience you have gained.

Remember 'He Who Dares Wins!'
(I heard you were an 'Only Fools and Horses' fan)

Best of Luck,

Keith

Lee, I am retired at the end of a career working for other people. In many ways that has meant working for idiots and if I had my time again and also for the time left to me, I am going to work for myself. I strongly advise you to do the same especially as you have such obvious talent.

Congratulations, Lee. I'm sure you're doing the right thing.
Bob Jenkins, over in the states, made a similar decision a couple of months ago. (He's responsible for TeachersInBusiness.com, bobtheteacher.com and SquidooSecrets.com, )
He wrote:

"June 20, 2007 will be my last day as a high school teacher. I’ve determined it’s time for me to go full time with my online teaching and mentoring business.
As a full time internet marketing coach and business trainer, I know I’ll have a much larger impact on the world.
For the last 10 years, I’ve loved working with students in the classroom. And, truthfully, I know I will miss the connections made with the 120 students I teach each year.
However, I recognize that there are more people in the world I can help on a regular basis. And because of that, I’m committed to enter a new stage of life."

I wish you every success - and that's not just because I am one of many who (hopefully) stand to gain from your decision!

Lee,

You should go for it!

My sister is a Biology Teacher, holidays are great, but plenty stress etc.

You do not need four walls and class in front of you to teach.

At 27, you could retire by 35 years if you continue in the same vain.

You got to be in it to win it !

Good Luck

Hi everyone

Thanks for the fantastic advice! I've been sat here for a few hours, while mulling things over in my mind. One thing that I AM sure about is that everyone here has helped me through this process by leaving such great advice.

I've been busy speak to friends and family over the past couple of days. I'm still not 100% sure in my mind about what I want to do, but I'm getting there.

Thanks again to EVERYONE for the inspiring comments! You've made it all so much easier :)

Lee;
A "Teachers Heart" is still a teachers heart, in a classroom or on line.
All I would ask is that you continue to keep the image of real students in your mind while you work online. I see several lose that and simply spill out what is working inside of them at the moment, instead of considering what the 'Student' can absorb and put to use in their life, or online business.
Without 'Students' and some sort of 'measuring scale' a teacher has emptiness in the classroom or on the screen and email room.
