Absolute Marketing Exhaustion

And today? Well, I’m having the day off! I’m not afraid to say that I am absolutely exhausted and I haven’t been this tired since I came back from a two week holiday in Bendidorm as a university leaving holiday with my then housemates!

I was so tired the day I got back from that holiday I could have fallen asleep while walking home from the train station!

So today I’m off into Manchester to watch three international football (sooccer) games on the trot, and I strongly suspect that there are a few beers with my name on them too. I’m looking forward to the Scotland v Italy game, and I have a feeling that Scotland will sneak it.

If you’re a subscriber of mine, and you’re out and about in Manchester today, if you bump into me it’s a probably a good idea that you don’t come and say hello. If your mental image is of a maverick marketer destined to slay the gurus, then you might be disappointed as I’m not expecting to be at my coherent best by the time the second match comes around!

I’ve worked hard and now it’s time to have some fun!

I might also spend some money today too. Since I quit my job I’ve been so careful with my money as I was terrified it would all suddenly go wrong. The result? Well, I’ve been eating Tesco Value beans, and Netto tinned food for weeks just in case something horrible happened.

For those not from the UK, I’ve basically been replicating my student days and eating the cheapest food known to man!

Well, I checked my bank today and nearly fell over. :) Four months of intensive marketing, coupled with cheap beans on toast for tea most nights, has left me with the equivalent of a year’s teacher salary sat in my bank account!

Now that I have a whole year’s salary saved up I think I can go wild and upgrade to Heinze beans after all!

I’m surprised my bank haven’t contacted me worried about the ‘odd’ activity on my account. I’ve been in the red for years so now I’m sure that that they are confused why hundreds of dollars get deposited in my account daily like clockwork!

Not as confused as some of my older relatives of course. Trying to describe what I do is tough, and so I now just tell people that I build websites for money, which I suppose is true enough. Explaining my niche marketing efforts to someone who has never been online is a challenge and a half!

Anyway, I’m rambling and it’s nearly time for my trip. I might actually go into town and look round the shops for an hour first before meeting my friends, but I doubt I’ll buy anything. I think I’ll want two years’ salary in my bank before I go that crazy!
