Always Do More Than People Expect

The Internet sucks!

Okay, that’s a pretty bold statement but if you ever sit down for an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon and spend some time surfing around I’m pretty sure you’ll come to the same conclusion.

I’m serious.

Spend some time following link after link in your marketplace and you’ll notice that almost everyone out there produces trashy content that’s poorly presented.

It’s weird. It’s almost as if 97% of the peeps out there are ADDICTED to just doing the absolute bare minimum when it comes to producing any kind of content.

And this attitude isn’t just restricted to content creation either.

Cripes, most people only do the bare minimum when it comes to every single aspect of their online endeavours.

Why? I have no idea!

It’s almost as if people think that making money online is so easy that they don’t even have to try.

(…personally I DO find making money online easy but I DO have to try!)

There are some double strange people out there don’t you think?

Let me give you a quick example why you most certainly DO want to do more than is expected of you….

Okay, there’s a guy out there called James Penn. He’s a top lad and I respect him hugely.

I believe he’s 18 years old and he’s been doing this for a few years. In fact, he is one of the first people I contacted for a JV just over a year ago.

Anyway, fast forward a few weeks and I ended up promoting his excellent Short Report Profits report. You’ll have to check with James but I think we sold about 80 copies in 48 hours as a result of my promotion to 1,000 people.

(…my memory is bad and it might be a bit more or a bit less)

Now James didn’t have any fancy One Time Offers or anything like that.

What he did have was a sales page, and then after the customer bought the product they were taken to a thank you page containing a link for an alternative product.

I didn’t even know this, and if I had, then I would have just congratulated him on his smooth marketing (he had some juicy copy on that page).

Three days later he sent me my payment….and he including a MASSIVE cheery on top too.

You see, he decided that it was only fair that he also paid me half the sales from the thank you page link just as his way of saying thank you for the promotion. I didn’t expect this. I thought he was crazy!

But he insisted I take it and I was grateful to him for it.

I expected him to do one thing (pay me) but he went ahead and did someting even better (paying me more!).

What a guy!

Yeah I worked hard to send him some sales of Short Report Profits BUT I didn’t expect him to send me a bonus payment, and the fact he did had a powerful impact on me.

(…to put it into context it’s a year ago and I still remember it vividly)

I wanted to say thanks so I actually changed some of my plans and started a viral marketing campaign for his book. I had to. I loved the book and I wanted to show my gratitude.

I almost felt compelled to work hard to send him MORE sales!

Now you’ll have to check with James as my memory is shocking, but for the next month or so I sold a lot of his product and I think I became his number one affiliate (he still doesn’t know how but that’s another story!).

So what’s my point? Here is is….

ALWAYS DO MORE THAN IS EXPECTED OF YOU!

I’m sorry to shout but this really is important. Quit doing the bare minimum and start going out of your way to do more than what anyone else expects. And start right now.

And if you go out there and overdeliver, in every area of your business, then magical things really will start to happen in ways you can’t even imagine.

I still remember the gesture James made and it’s not the kind of thing I’ll ever forget.

If you’re not doing more than what’s expected of you then get started now. After all, there’s no time like the present!

Sure you can spend your time trying to game the system. Or trying to devise secret systems to that will pull cash into your pocket like a magnet pulls metal.

But if you go out of your way to do more than anyone else expects then you’ll sleep like a baby AND your busy will boom.
