From My Survey and this Made Me Laugh

April 20th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also sign up for my extremely popular FREE newsletter by clicking HERE. Thanks for visiting!

I’m currently surveying the members over at Standing Start Profits so that I can strive to make the site even better (it’s alredy so good that 95% of the people taking the survey said that they expected to stay forever!)

Anyway, one of the questions was “what other other sites are you a member of?”

One person listed 7 other sites together with their affiliate link, a brief review of each one, and then a call to action for me to join!

Talk about trying to squeeze your affiliate link in wherever you can….and good on them I say!

I’ve never been ’sold’ to before during a survey I was running, but you’ve got to admire that level of enthusiasm haven’t you?

It almost makes me want to join one of the other sites just so they can grab an affiliate commission!

How Free Are You?

March 20th, 2008

Yesterday I went to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Bolton. I’ve been to most games since I was 9 back in 1989, and I’ve held a season ticket since 1991.

Out of all of the things I do for fun, I enjoy nothing more than a trip to the match to watch my team play. I used to go with my grandad when I was a child, and now I go with an old friend from school.

It’s the little things like going to the football that make me really appreciate the lifestyle that my Internet business allows me.

Yesterday I was able to open up my mentoring program, and then leave the logistics to my shopping cart to shut down the orders if they exceeded the 9 slots available.

I was able to send an email, and then go to the pub for our pre match pint, and I really didn’t have a care in the world.

While my friend was dressed in suit and tie, and was feeling flustered from a hard day at the office and rush hour traffic, I was calm and collected and looking just a little bit scruffy!

The Internet has allowed me to live a lifestyle I never thought possible. I wake up when I want. I work when I want. And I go to the pub for pre match pints when I want too.

The reason I bring this up is because in previous jobs I’ve often not been able to even get to the night matches, let alone go to the pub at 4pm for a football chat and a cold beer.

Is what I do always this easy? Cripes no!

I’ve worked harder than ever, but the rewards really do make it all worthwhile. While I was enjoying my beer yesterday I couldn’t help notice the office workers rushing past the window.

I sat there for 3 hours while we drank beer and chatted football, and I don’t think I saw one happy person go by.

One thing that I’ve discovered in my life is that money doesn’t bring happiness for the majority of people. Freedom does.

Freedom is true happiness, and maybe that’s why so many people who feel chained to their jobs are so miserable for a large part of their lives?

I’ve been stuck in jobs where I felt that I’d be there forever with no escape possible. Sat watching the clock day after day, and dreaming of something better.

Am I free now? Not quite, and if I left for some tropical island tomorrow it wouldn’t be long before the wheels of my business fell off and the walls came crashing down.

This is something I’m working on.

I might not be truly free, but I have more freedom that I ever dreamt possible. Anyone can achieve the same if they’re prepared to work hard, and follow their heart.

We live in special times, and the Internet has made things possible that would have sounded surreal if they’d be mentioned 20 years ago.

These changes have meant that freedom is in everyone’s grasp. If they want it badly enough. How free are you?

It’s Good to Say Thanks

March 20th, 2008

When was the last time you just stopped and said thank you? When was the last time you stopped what you were doing just so that you could say thank you to those around you?

In the last 9 months I’ve accomplished more than I ever thought possible. I’ve quit my job as a teacher and I now run an internet business that goes from strength to strength.

I just wanted to stop and say thank you to the people that have helped make it happen.

Tony Shepherd

When I was a complete beginner Tony was the first person to answer my Joint Venture request. He was the first person to promote Auction Profits Unleashed, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

He’s also given me tremendous advice and encouragement, and I wouldn’t be here without his wise words.

John Thornhill

Is thankyou enough for a man who has promoted Auction Profits Unleashed, Auction Secret Profits, Standing Start Profits, Mailing Lists Unleashed and Project New Web?!

John showed great trust and faith in me right from the start and for that I’m grateful. I feel honoured to have worked with him over the past few months, and I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t received his support and guidance. Thank you John!

Dr Mani

Before I released my first product I made a post on the Warrior Forum about how to make money using eBay. Dr Mani sent me a private message telling me that he loved my post, and that he wanted to pay me to consult with him.

I said yes but no to the payment of course, but I simply couldn’t believe that someone so prominent would value my information so highly. This gave me the encouragement to push ahead with my business. Our email exchanges convinced me to continue with my new business. I’m glad I did and this is something I’ll always be grateful for.

Terry Dean

Terry taught me that it was possible to make a huge income online without compromising your integrity. When I first found his work I felt drawn to him as his beliefs closely matched my own.

Here was a man who spoke his mind and rejected all that was bad about Internet marketing and yet still made a fortune. I knew the second I finished reading an article on his blog that this was someone I could learn from.

I was pleased to have in front of me a role model who made a massive income online without sacraficing what he believed in. Terry thank you for what you have taught me.

Bev Manns

If I’m being honest, I must be a pretty rubbish boss a lot of the time. I’m disorganised and unprepared, and half the time I don’t know what day of the week it is let alone what tasks need to be completed.

Despite this Bev has been brilliant, and she has kept my business functioning through it all. I’m sure she must get frustrated from time to time, but I thank her for her patience and her excellent work ethic. It’s hugely appreciated.

Darren from Graphics Genie

Graphics Genie have helped me out when I’ve needed them the most. But I don’t just recommend them for their excellent work. I also recommend them because Darren cares about those who he works with, and always does his best to help them where he can.

Thank you Darren for the support and encouragement. It hasn’t gone unnoticed and it’s very much appreciated.

The Standing Start Profits Moderators

What can I say here? Without this team of highly motivated and dedicated people my forum just wouldn’t exist.

John, Randy, Paula, Dan, Robin, Keith. Thank you for what you do, and for the efforts you give. I notice it everyday and I thank you very much. The success of our forum is due to your hard work and dedication and I want to say thank you for it.

My subscribers

While everyone else seems to complain about their ungrateful subscribers who complain all day long, I seem to have a different experience. Loyal, passionate and talented would be the best way to describe those people who look forward to each newsletter that I send.

I thank everyone who has ever shown enough confidence in me to hand over their email address. Without my subscribers my business would be zero.

My grandparents.

Thank you for teaching me that good things come to those who work hard and who believe in themself. Thank you to my grandad for showing me that anything is possible if only I work hard and never give up.

I wouldn’t be here without the lessons you taught me throughout my life, and I want to say a very deep thank you for that.

To Fiona

Thank you for the help and the encouragement. Not many people would have supported me in the way you did, and this is something I shall never forget.

You made me believe the impossible was possible, and that I really could reach for the sky. This will always be with me and I hope you realise what this means to me when you read this post. None of this would have happened without you and I want you to know that.

There are lots more people to thank, and I hope you know who you are. Thanks for the support, the encouragement, and the rest. It is never forgotten.

It’s good to say thanks. When did you last say thank you to those you appreciate. Maybe today is a good time to do just that?

Life Before Google?

March 11th, 2008

A friend just sent me this video, and I just had to post it here. If this doesn’t make you think about the future of your internet business then I don’t know what will!

Pretty thought provoking don’t you think? Let me know your comments in the form below…
