Great post, and really important for people to understand. You hit the nail on the head when you said that a Squeeze Page is not there to sell. This is really important to get through to people. It’s there to build a list.

The other important point you cover here is that, websites and blogs have a problem, and that’s is simply that there are distractions. There are compelling reasons to click of the page you may have set up to capture data.

So a Squeeze is all about focusing on just one thing and secondly concentrate on getting the lead, not a sale.

Great article. I don’t have a squeeze page and have been debating for months to get one, mainly because most of the ones I sign up for, I get e-mails anywhere from every day to every week or so. I feel like I won’t know what to write so often and therefore wouldn’t be keeping up a good rapport with my subscribers.. Someday, I’ll bite the bullet and just do it!!

I’ve been thinking squeeze page thoughts since I decided to write an ebook. But I can’t imagine a one page website getting a lot of traffic-clearly they do. I guess if you use PPC…

But I also don’t see how if you have a blog you can then convince people to stop looking at your landing page and switch over to a squeeze page on the site. “Leave this page with many options and interesting stuff and go look my page with just link-less print and a box for your email.” Obviously there’s a science to it. Because I plan to do it once I figure it out!

Great post Lee! I would be interested to know whether squeeze pages with video convert better than squeeze pages without video. Have you done any testing with this and do you have the results from your testing?
