Don’t You Just Hate It When Gurus Do This?

Do you ever get really annoyed when a big name guru promises that something will be released soon, only to keep delaying it just to build up the tension and the suspense?
It happens all the time and it really winds me up! I can see the marketing benefit in this of course, and the bigger the delay, the more excited people get and the more likely they are to buy the product in question.
It works but it really does annoy me sometimes!
Okay, now that I’ve got that off my chest please buckle up as you’re about to get frustrated with me too. I promised that my new free ebook would be ready today, but due to a slight delay it’s now going to be sent to my list tomorrow.
Before you start beefing all over me in the comments below, please understand that this isn’t some delaying tactic to build up the hype. After all, the report is 100% free so I have no reason to build up the anticipation anyway.
The reason for the 24 hour delay is that I’m feeling pretty sickly, and am typing this from my bed. Yes, it’s 16:40 GMT and I’ve still not managed to get out from under the duvet today.
I’ve been trying to work all day, but am getting nowhere fast. The good news is that the free ebook is all done and ready, but I don’t want to press go until I’m at least able to stand up without needing to fall down!
It will definitely be sent tomorrow, and if I’m not feeling better by then, I’ll just get my very able assistant Bev to press the button while I feel sorry for myself rolling around the bed.
Here’s a list of things that I’ve tried to do today but haven’t done very well…
(1) Writing a bio for an event I’m taking part in (I couldn’t sleep so got up at 4am to do this which was the worst idea I’ve had in a while)
(2) Sent an email to one of my teacher lists (made four times more typos than normal and so am bound to get lots of grief from the grumpy English teachers today)
(3) Tried to upload a new marketing tool to the Standing Start Profits membership area (I came to the conclusion fast that FTP and a sick marketer with blurred vision was a bad combination when dealing with my crown jewel site responsible for a good proportion of my income)
I’m off to bed now to feel more sorry for myself, and if anyone want to bring me some medicine, and maybe answer a few support tickets then you’re more than welcome!
Hang on in there and this free report will be with you in 24 hours even if I’ve been taken to hospital in a trolley….

Sometimes we work ourselves too hard. Maybe your body needs a rest and it really doesn’t care if we get our report or not, it wants you to feel better. So get well soon!

Lee,
First off….sorry you’re feeling under the weather…that sucks.
Second, don’t worry about being a day late…and I hear you about the ‘guru’s’ doing their stall tactics to build up the launch….
When I first loaded the html files for 5 Star Ebooks, I mentioned the date that I had planned to launch on the website, but alas, that date came and went. After several weeks of technical work on the coding of the pages and whatnot, I launched earlier this week. So I know what you mean and how you feel.
Looking forward to reading the report.
