You are right, sometimes it is scary just to face the fear…We got to face the reality, Great video Lee.

Hey Lee,

Fantastic video as always. I can relate with the fear, but I got be honest I always checked my bank account while I was in college. Even though I was only in college a short stint, five different times, I still checked the account every now and then.

Anyway, fantastic video I appreciate all the giving you do.

Talk soon,

Shannon Herod

PS – I would love to do an interview with you for my Inner Circle members ;-)

I enjoyed the video because it’s exactly what I tell my readers on my blog. Not only that, but although fearing failure is normal we need to embrace failure and see it for the lesson it is. I really believe that without failure, there is no true success.

Hey Man Great Stuff …….you are absolutely right on the money here….this is something that should just become part of your daily routine ;-) thrash

Thank“s Lee! It is a big reminder for me. My mind is quite forgiving, and I am also not remindering to long time, the bad things I do.

Hi Lee,

Thanks again for the video.

You reminded us again that we humans are not perfect. Heck if an excellent marketer like you are still facing this kind of problem from time to time, then it’s no wonder that we suffer from it more often.

Every time I watch your training video, I learn something new.

Best!

The problem I have is now connecting all of the dots. I have hundreds of reports, tons of courses – so much in fact that now I am not sure to just where I should start, as there seems to be a variety of areas to start in.

I’m curious – to those who have submitted postings ahead of me, how did you place your picture in the posting?
Thanks – Maria Mekus

Hi, Lee,
After five years of ill health and now losing my sight, that moment – no money – has lasted a few months.
My reality now is that I cannot buy food nor pay my rent.
Reality is a bitch and sometimes you can’t do anything about it.

10 John Wright February 1, 2010 at 4:54 pm

What a good video Lee ! Hey and I thought it was only me that thought that way.
Isn’t it funny when you think about it that we all pretty much think the same way underneath, yet we think it is just us that think like that.
The truth is that we are all as vulnerable as each other and it is just the subject in
the worry line that changes.
Keep up the great work Lee.

Wrighty.

Hi Lee
once again useful and usable content !
It reminds me of a book called “Feel the Fear and do it anyway” by Susan Jeffers. Where it basically tells you to overcome your fear by doing the very thing that scares you!! and in my experience the demons that we create in our minds are usually ten times worse than the actual deed itself!

Also as a side note, Worrying / Fretting to me is in the same mold! ( my wife is good at this ) all-tho she’s getting better of late!

i once read a quote that sums it up beautifully here it is

“Worrying is the interest that we pay on the balance that’s not yet due”

Just think about it. To me this is so true.

“Have the best day you can have…….. Its your choice!”

Lee, you shared such wisdom in today’s message. I think we have all done this exact thing at one time or another. At first, it does seem easier to ignore things that might be unpleasant…but then the fear grows in our mind until the problem seems insurmountable. However, because we are beings with infinite possibilities, there is nothing we cannot overcome….and it’s a heck of a lot easier to face challenges head on.
I needed to be reminded of that. Thank you for sharing this with us today!

Hi Lee,

Once again great content and very usable content!
It reminds me of a book called “Feel the fear and do it anyway” by Susan Jeffers. where she basically tells you to do the very thing that scares you.
What i have found over the years is that things are usually ten times worse in your head than the actual act itself !

Take the letters in FEAR and it actually stands for
False Evidence Appearing Real

Another thing in the same vain is worrying / Fretting (my wife is good at this) all tho she’s getting a lot better of late!

I Once read a line that to me explains what worrying is, and it was
“Worrying is the interest we pay,on a Balance that’s not yet due”

Which to me explains it brilliantly, Just think about it!

“Have the best day you can have……Its your choice”

OMG! You hit the nail on the head with this one. I could relate to every single situation you talked about. And yes, when I set down and create a list of things to deal with, it does go much better. However, creating that list in the first place can be so scary I don’t want to take that first step.

As a matter of fact, I have a situation that Friday I told myself I would deal with today. Really, it’s not that big of a deal, either they will tell me yes or no. But I’m so afraid they will say no, I almost had myself talked out of dealing with it today. I told myself I’m just to busy today.

Well, you’ve talked me into it. I’m shutting off my computer, taking a shower, and I’m going to find out what they say. Even if they say no, I will find out what it is going to take for them to say yes.

Thanks for getting me off of my butt.

Hi Lee,
Thank you.Fear is a natural feeling, but the choices we make have significant impact.Courage is not the absence of fear but rather taking despite fear.Your video is an exemple for as to learn from.Certainly for me.The feelings of fear are normal when we are faced with new challenges.

Lee,
thanks for the good advice which I think most of us can relate to. Iv’e been tryiny to get my hypnosis buisiness up and running now for 18months and so far have achieved nothing.I have been wanting to do a self hypnosis class for ages now but lack the confidence although I know that I can do it.
Your video’s are excellent but Whenever I listen I appear to get a mental block,
I do the same with maths -do you know what I mean. It’s all the jargon, I don’t undestand it all and so just get the block.
I listen to you think yes I can do it, but then something comes up that I don’t understand and that’s it for me.

Hi Lee, I was born in Boldon just 8 mles from Newcastle and it’s nice to hear the Geordie accent again which I can understand, My motto is–when you get up in the morning, the first thing you do (after coffee) is to face your problems and deal with them–then for the rest of the day you can only feel better, because you have lifted that invisable 56lb sack of potatoes off your back that you have been carrying around for a few weeks.Like-wise, when someone says “Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first” I always reply “Give me the bad news first”. Congratulations Lee, good stuff.

That’s how our minds view fear – we just need to remember that in most cases it’s all false evidence appearing real.
So if we can face the fear and tackle it head on – 9 times out of ten it’s never as bad as we thought it would be :)

Hope that helps, and I look forward to seeing you on the 19th ;)

Warm Regards

Nice video and you make a great point! I’ve become stuck working IM courses, having no success, and wondering when is the right time to give up on that particular method — or is the method sound but my niche/campaign is the problem? Pretty soon, I go back to more reading and analysis rather than working through to success.

I had a similar experience in college. Far away from home, age 16 but looked 12, first term freshman year, my first bank account and suddenly, I was bouncing checks! I “knew” I wasn’t out of money, but I hadn’t opened my bank statements, either. It turned out someone else’s bank card was cross-linked to my account and drawing money from it! What a nightmare! I was scared, but was able to prove it to the banker, who credited my account for their part of the problem. I still lost all the bounced check charges from people I’d written checks to. However, looking back, it was a cheap lesson in learning to advocate for myself AND to promptly check my bank statements!

29 Nickolove Lovemore February 1, 2010 at 11:53 pm

Hi Lee,

Thank you for being so candid. So many people can relate to what you’re saying regarding facing your fears. I was listening to an interview with Les Brown and he was talking about a period of his life when he was going through a difficult time financially.

His would ask his children to say that he wasn’t home if they answered the phone and if it was a debt collector calling but they would often say “Daddy, says he’s not at home” which clearly didn’t help matters.

Things are often never as bad as we fear them to be but often it’s not just fear that gets in the way. People often feel embarrassed about certain situations and so don’t tackle them head on or sometimes they feel completely overwhelmed by their circumstances.

It helps to have someone to discuss these issues who can help you analyse your particular situation objectively and help you to arrive at appropriate solutions.

Best wishes

Nickolove

Hi Lee,
Yet again you’ve got this bang on. I am one of life’s biggest worriers and have my head burried in the sand so often that im starting to think im an ostrich!!.

Ive been thinking of starting an online business for a few years now, I allways seem to get to a certain point and then give up.Why?, simple fear, fear of failure, fear of getting myself into more financial difficulty than im allready in. That was until I subscribed to your point & click coaching package, you have shown me that if I want to be successful in this business and believe me I really do, then I have to confront my fears head on. At the end of the day what’s the worst that can happen.

I would just like to say thank you for the great content you provide and the fact that you believe in giving value to your subscribers, something I think you do so well.
Please keep up the good work.
Best regards
Julian

Hi Lee,

I used your fear relieving strategy to accomplish one of the GREATEST life changing decisions of my entire life ! I had been SO SCARED to get an online business started that I hid from it for four years by studying the teachings of so many marketers that I never found the time to take action. Whenever I would reach the point where I felt it was time to DO something, I would choose, instead, to hide from it by pursuing the opinion of yet another “guru”. Finally, after utilizing the method you suggested in the “Face Your Fear” video, I realized that this cycle would never end, and, that I would never accomplish my goal until I found the ONE mentor in whom I could put all my trust, focus ONLY on his teachings and take his recommended actions. My fear had cost me four years delay, and, regretfully, four years of stress and aggravation, but, once this heavy load was lifted, I was led to my mentor and assured of my success. This is surely only one of many fears I will need to conquer in the future, but, this victory has allowed me to pursue my aspirations. Thank you, Lee McIntyre, for accepting me as one of your blessed students, and thank you for a life changing message !

Mike

39 bob rettman February 2, 2010 at 10:50 am

Hey Lee, first of all, I have to admit that in the past, I have had a love hate relationship with you.
A little while back you popped out of nowhere. For the next month you haunted me no matter where I would go and no matter who’s e-mail I clicked on- there you were! I would be reading someone’s blog and click on some link on the blog, and you would popped up. I would open a friends e-mail, and there you were!! My e-mail reads like the who’s who of Internet Marketing. The guru’s found me because they are good and aggressive. During the course of one day, you haunted me by popping up or appearing in every e-mail and blog I would open or click on! It was maddening!! I thought, “Who is this guy??”
I tried hiding from you! But your e-mails, or video’s would find me. I began to become paranoid! I seriously thought “Lee McIntyre” was a virus that I had contracted online. Oh, shit, I have the “LeeMcIntyre virus!! I had a perfect right to think this, since every site, e-mail, or blog I clicked on, the “LeeMcIntyre” virus would rise up and begin speaking to me in that same voice!
I began to hate LeeMcIntyre! He became a symptom of something more than a virus. He became a goddamn “Plague” ! A Nazi Blitz !
Once my impaired paranoid condition cleared a bit, I began to formulate distorted ways I could use this ubiquitous presence. I was convinced that if I could make myself appear everywhere like the “LeeMcIntyre” phenomenon I was absolutely sure people would pay a lot of money for software that would make me go away! No offense Lee, but there was a point where I would have paid for software to make you go away. Of course I thought at the time that my computer had caught something diabolical.
So it was with dollar signs in my eyes that I was compelled to click on one of your links to download something, anything just so I could try to trick you into revealing the secrets of ubiquity! How I too could be in a thousand places all at once. Oh, if only I could be so irritating!!!
As you can tell, I have many fears, some real, but most are imagined. One of my real fears was knowing nothing at all about computers. I have had numerous businesses though out my life. I never became rich from one but I always managed to make a living at them.
I could always seek someone out in the same type of business. I always found someone who’s feet I could sit at. They were always generous with their time and knowledge. In return, once I was up and surviving whenever I would run into an account too large for my small company, I would send them to my mentor and friend.
Someone told me to get a mentor. Of course the mentors wanted thousands of dollars. I complained to someone that I could not afford a mentor. He suggested I ask a high school kid. He said they know how to do incredible things with computer. Sounds like a good idea doesn’t it?
The school bus stops two houses down from mine. It’s a rainy day so I grab my umbrella and off I go to met the school bus. I stand near the steps of the bus. There are both high school kids and elementary school kids getting off of the bus. I stood there quietly asking who the best computer guy is and I tell them I will pay money to teach me some things about computers. Also standing there are a pack of mothers who are eying me with suspicion. A very large rotund woman came at me yelling “I heard that”! You get out of here you pervert!! You got some nerve offering those children money for your dirty deeds! I said lady, you got it all wrong! I simply want to hire someone to help me with my computer skills. “We know what type of skills your looking for, she shouted at me at the top of her lungs!!
Now the women were forming a gang and coming at me with their umbrellas locked and loaded. I kept telling them that I was giving a high school kid a chance to make some money in return for showing me some computer skills. They simply did not want to hear it! They were convinced that I was a pervert trying to hire a child for sexual purposes. I was becoming fed up with their accusations. I said listen lady, see that house right there, that is my house I live right there! I need help with my computer that’s all. The big scary lady said: If that is your house than you had better get back in it before your sorry!! Now they were all bunched up and coming at me! I had to flee for my life as they began to poke at me with their umbrellas. I broke and ran as fast as I could for the safety of my home. I ran through the door and slammed it behind me. Those lady’s were trying to kill me!!!
Needless to say that, that was the last time I had anything to do with the school bus or a high school kid! I was lucky to get away with my life. I still have nightmares about that big rotund lady chasing me with her umbrella!!
The Internet business is something a bit different. Most people are extremely mercenary. I actually had someone who offered to mentor me for fifty thousand dollars and fifteen percent of my gross for the first year!!! You may even recognize the numbers and know who he is. He did guarantee me my money back if I didn’t make money!
The first purchase I made online I was ripped off for over two thousand dollars! The following week, I went to ebay and bought an item for $29.00 and until this day I have not received the item nor did I ever get my money back! It was my own fault. I should have known better than to have tried to buy a hand warmer from someone in the tropics?
After losing over two thousand dollars in my first two weeks on the Internet, I said to myself “Boy making a living on the Internet is going to be expensive”!!
And not having anyone to warn me about the pit falls and classic mistakes one makes when trying to make a living in Internet Marketing. I am not proud to say that I blazed a trail all by myself, making every classic mistake a new guy can make. I made many contributions to the poor gurus. That is how I know I am a stupid person because I had the same programs that they used to make a million dollars a month but because of my stupidity I could not make anywhere near that much. In fact, I never made a penny from those great programs that the gurus used to become rich. But it did teach me one thing: “That I was playing against the house” The house always separates a fool from his money. I guess I should have said “The house always separates a newbie from his money” That would have been more correct, wouldn’t it?
Just out of curiosity, after one had donated all of his money to the sport of Internet Marketing, is there anyone who taps you on the shoulder and whispers in your ear “Hey man, don’t do that anymore, listen, we know you have paid your dues so we are going to let you in on the secret of making a few bucks. Go to this website and tell them Johnny sent you!
I’ll bet that ain’t gonna happen is it? Look, I know everybody has to make a living but damn guys, give me a break. It’s my nature to pay back three fold. After all half of something is always better than all of nothing.
Alright, I have probably filled your entire site. Sorry about that Lee, you asked for a comment and I wrote you an e-book. My e-mail friends say that it is because I live all alone in this house, so I tend to become like a old lady at the back fence bending everyone’s ear. I would suspect there is some truth in what they say. I do tend to over do it with comments and e-mails. What can I say, but I would understand it if you didn’t read it. But in case you do get this far, thanks for the chance to vent, and thanks for sharing your fears. I am not successful because I do have the fear of failing. I know a hundred way to make money on the Internet but lack the technical skills to implement them.
Early on, the first time I received a zip file I didn’t know how to open it so I went on a Dell support site and told the guy that every time I open it, I only get one page? I told him it was probably because I was a dumb ass. He said, let me see you do it again. I did it again and said to him, “see only one page” He said, ” You are a dumb ass” you only got one page because it only has one page. Now it’s not that he called me a dumb ass, Hell, I have been called a dumb ass by the best of them. I will also admit that in many ways I am a dumb ass! But the experience made me extremely shy about asking questions, not because of what they may say but because of how I feel about being so stupid in this venue. I did develop this fear and it does hold me back in many ways. Knowing you have similar problems and are man enough to admit to them gives me new hope that you guys are not just machines that can make a computer dance to your tunes, but rather a human being with fears and traits. It reinforces the premise that if you can do it, so can I. So thanks again Lee, this time I will end it bye bye, sincerely, bob rettman
p.s. I am sure we both share many more things. Off the top of my head, I would be willing to bet we both share the love of tits!!
p.s.s. I really didn’t hate you Lee. In fact, I was extremely impressed that you were everywhere. It meant you had many affiliates among the big boys.

Warmest Regards
