Free Traffic Explosion And Two Million Subscribers

by Lee McIntyre on January 9, 2008

Today I stumbled across cool a free blogging tool today over at Blog Perfume, and I’ve been having some fun playing around with the graphs that it produces.

It’s a free tool that allows you to enter the address of your Feedburner blog feed, and then it produces a few graphs that shows you how your blog is doing.

You simply enter your Feebburner blog feed address, click submit, and then a few seconds later and you’ll be shown some interesting graphs that will help you to quickly grab a feel for the performance of your blog’s RSS feed.

When you’ve been working hard on something it’s always nice to see the fruit of your labour, so it was enjoyable to see some graphs for this blog that were heading in the right direction!

Above you can see a nice picture showing how the number of RSS readers to this blog is currently skyrocketing.

I’ve been working harder than ever to provide the best content possible on this blog, and so a graph like above proves to me that I’m on the right track with the work that I’m doing.

As I discussed over at Standing Start Profits, my email list is what accounts for 90% of my monthly income, but I’m also eager to boost the RSS readers to this blog as a way of establishing another entry point to my email list.

Now the screenshot above is the most interesting of them all…

Last month my subscriber rate grew by a whopping 129.63%, and if that trend was to continue then Blog Perfume predicts that I’ll have 2,665,366 readers by the end of the year!

Well, I always say shoot for the sky, although I think this particular target might be a touch on the ambitious side.

Still, who am I add to argue with such a tool? If anyone wants to make me an offer for this blog based on the projections above then I suppose that I could give it some consideration if I had to do so!

Let’s start the bidding at $2,ooo,ooo and feel free to place your bid in the comments below…

 A cool $2 mil! Is that all. After 2 years with that growth rate, you would be looking at 57,293,942,080 subscribers. I would be setting the asking price at $1 billion.

Bredan, I think you might be right.

This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in website flipping.

Buy for 1 billion when I have 57,293,942,080, and then sell the site the year after when that figure has doubled.

It’s win win!

Whoops! My mathematical skills have outstripped my logic. Ummm, there are not that many people on the planet. Sorry for getting your hopes up. Anyway, keep the great content coming.

Cheers, Brendan.

Bredan ssshhhh!

You’re putting off the buyers and saying all the wrong things.

A better way of looking at it is that there MIGHT be that many people in the world soon.

In fact, there might be more, which just adds more value to the site in my eyes.

Think of the potential!

I’m still open to seven figure offers…

Hmmm…

If only that were true! lol

What would be interesting to see is if there was something where you could plug-in your average “unsubscribe” rate per day/week/month so you could get a realistic measurement of what if *could* be in a years time if you continue down the same path :)

But, it’s definitely fun to see that you’ll have that many subscribers in a years time! haha

All the best,

Brian, next you’ll be telling me that father christmas doesn’t exist!

In all seriousness it’s a fun tool AND it’s good business too.

I imagine this tool cost them a few hundred dollars, yet they’re getting a ton of free traffic and then selling ad space on the back of this.

Linkbait at its finest and I take my hat off to them!

Thanks for the post Brian and please stop by often. :)
