I just had to get this off my chest. My name is Lee McIntyre and I’m an addict. Okay, I’m not addicted to alcohol or drugs. But I am addicted to something far more potent.
I’m addicted to business systems and I can’t get enough of them.
But first let me ask you this….
What did you do with your time last night. Did you work your business? Did you write articles? Did you comment on other people’s blogs?
Well last night I did all of the above. And much more too.
I submitted articles to blog carnivals. I contacted 12 potential JV partners. I wrote a new resource box. I commented on 20 blogs. And I added lots of friends on Stumbleupon.
Oh yes…and I also spent the night in a really nice bar in Manchester City Centre drinking ice cold pints of beer while enjoying nice company.
You see, I’ve recently been working hard to develop systems in my business so that I could work a bit less, and have a bit more fun.
It’s taken a lot of trial and error but I’m now starting to see the fruits of my work. Let me tell you that it’s a nice feeling to enjoy drinks with a friend while you know that 4 people are beavering on your business for you.
And now I can’t get enough. I’ve gone system crazy and my mind is awash with thoughts on how I can automate every last element of my online business.
If you’re currently trying to do everything yourself in your business then consider trying to set up a system to outsource something this week. Choose something really repetitive that others could do for you.
You’ll most likely find the rush of knowing that you can pay someone $5 an hour to run your business while you run your life to be intoxicating.
And don’t worry if you don’t know where to start. In the days and weeks ahead I’ll be giving lots of helpful advice that will show you how to create your own profitable systems from scratch.
Right now though I have a serious addication to deal with…

Hi Lee,
Great post. I’ve recently been reading James Brausch’s blog and he really seems to have outsourcing down to a fine art.
I think he claims to outsource atleast 400 man hours of work a week, mainly through his Intern program by the looks of things.
I outsource things like graphics and I’m about to get a wordpress plugin created too. But I really need to work on outsourcing traffic generation now. You mentionedstumbleupon…has that been a big driver of traffic for you?
Cheers…Graham

Hey Lee!
Great post for sure..I’m trying to set up similar systems in my business as well. I’m acutally selling one of your products, the classroom management 101 ebook through clickbank and was wondering if you would rebrand the free report ebook that goes with that product?
I sent in a support ticket a few days back. Please let me know as I am ready to really push that product.
P.S. I’m a teacher as well…

Hi Graham
When I started outsourcing, I’d find a task and then pass to someone else.
The problem was it took so long to identify the task, and then to explain it, and then to find someone to do it, that I didn’t save any time!
I’ve since learned that outsourcing is much more effective when you create systems and processes, rather than when you pass along ad hoc tasks.
I’ll explain more of this in a blog post this week.
Yes Stumbleupon has been great for me - of all the Web 2.0 sites it consistently sends the best traffic by far.
Hi SonHouse - I’m dealing with your support ticket at the moment. Sorry for the delay which was caused by a gremlin in the system.
Expect a response by the end of the day
And it’s always nice to chat to a fellow teacher too!

When I first saw the title, I wondered if I had ended up in the wrong place!
To be honest though, I could glass myself as an Addict. Although I’m somewhat slow at the odd thing, (mainly writing) which I could outsource, but that would lead to even more costs!
My time will come though!
Thanks
Mark

Hey Lee.. useful post mate!
My question is, how these blog carnivals are working, and are they bringing you any quality traffic?
P.S. Wondering why you’re avoid using a direct e-mail support system - it’s because of outsourcing?
