How A Product I Created In Less Than 4 Hours Earns Me $45,354.47 Per Month

by Lee McIntyre on June 17, 2009

I’ve just created a cool new case study that explains why you DON’T need to take weeks or months creating your own info products.

Cripes, last year I created a simple little interview product and I expect it to help me earn $1,000,000 in the next 12 months!

(the video below explains how)

If you’ve not yet started creating your own content at supersonic speeds then you MUST watch this case study right now.

Click play below and then sit back and enjoy…

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The “Info Marketing Formula” Newbie Friendly mentoring opportunity mentioned in this video is being released on Friday 19th June at 11am EST.

Space is strictly LIMITED to just 29 lucky subscribers and this will sell out fast. I’ll be explaining more tomorrow…

Did you like this video case study? Then I want to hear from you!

Let me know what you thought in the comments below now…

That is simply amazing Lee! I’ve been working on an ebook for well over a month now, but here you prove that MP3s and videos have a higher perceived value than text and ebooks. I’m already working on shifting toward video and MP3. My biggest problem has always been generating the traffic to my website because I don’t have a list. Either way, great job. Thanks again, Lee

Wow, this came at a great time. I’ve done audio interviews before, but never really thought about selling one as a product. I usually just have them on my blog. That gives me a great idea for an easy interview product that I can do with someone that is VERY relevant to my niche. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work. I hope to be where you are in a few months :)

Lee,

I was one of your early supporters. In the early days of your IM business I bought everything you made and promoted.

But about a year I ago I emailed James and said “…take me out of the membership program…” that was $97/mo.

I think your stuff is great but here is “my stumbling block”.

Even though I followed your “give content first – then sell approach” I eventually was putting people on list(s) and loading autoresponders with message after message selling products – mostly IM.

I was making great money and the content was ok but hawking product after product made me feel like a bloody snake-oil salesman. 98% of those that bought did not implement the information or become successful so I eventually stopped everything and took down my sites.

Currently, I am using the same system in some very tight niche markets and keeping my lists smaller and I give 90% information and 10% product promotion. I am happier but poorier.

Is there a way to balance the “hype” vs “real content” and make that kind of money?

Cheers,

Jim The Writer

This is really great! I am slowly working my way through various affiliate projects and seem to be getting nowhere. This sounds like a winner! I would love how to REALLY know how!

7 John Tan June 18, 2009 at 2:26 am

Hi Lee,

Indeed making a product need not to be difficult. I still remember the first time I create my own product, it took me months.

I am sure your product will benefit a lot of people.

8 Bryan June 18, 2009 at 2:31 am

Hey Lee, just created one in 10 minutes. I pulled out my mp3 player, which has a recording device inside and talked for 10 minutes. No script, no fancy sound effects. Me bumbling along…”uh what was I saying” But it’s done. lol

Check it out…www.sellwebsitesell.com. Ok, so it’s crappy, But it’s a first try, and now I can say I have an information product all my own.

Best of all it took 10 minutes to create :)

Note: I will most certainly revise it and improve it. But had to do something to start. :)

9 John from IM headlines June 18, 2009 at 3:20 am

I must say that this is very impressive.

You made a very good point in this video, which is

“It all about the value”

If you put up some good information in your products, people will buy them & thank you for it!

You’re one of the few internet marketers that I follow because you’re honest & you speak from your heart…

Thank you for this video… looking forward to see more stuff from you ;)

Cheers!

Watching you, Lee, I find that you have been working more thn 14 hours a day to achieve all this. One can visualise a Product, but to create one, one needs credibility of a certain level which comes only with experience. I hope a way can be found if we can combine off-line experience and online needs. I am looking keenly at Products that come my way to see how soon and how best this can be done. Thanks for the presentation.

Regards. Sankaranarayanan Ramachandran.

Thanks Lee, topical, timely and inspiring, no nonsense approach and strategies. Will push that start button and see what’s possible. Thanks again for your input.

13 Patrick Wooley June 18, 2009 at 6:13 am

Lee,
Awesome content as usual. Your ingenuity never ceases to amaze. I too am in the process of creating an ebook and should be done within a month. But my question is, how would someone who is relatively unknown be able to get an interview with a known internet marketer that people may recognize? Thanks and keep up the great content, you’re an asset to the cause. Take care.

14 Melody Baker June 18, 2009 at 6:22 am

Fantastic Lee,

Now can you help me do the same thing, and put it on my site?

15 Mary June 18, 2009 at 6:33 am

Talk about “newbies”!!! I am trying to replace my husbands six figure income due to his disability and I have no idea what I’m doing. I have listened to several of your videos and for the first time I really do believe I can do this. I am scared to death because I will probably not pay some bills so I can do this. Thanks for the hope and I look forward to working with you.

Bless You…mary

very cool, lee!

definitely something to keep in mind. my million dollar question is how to create the rest of that funnel with no initial product…

17 michael finlay June 18, 2009 at 9:48 am

Great little concept Lee but how do we get the finished product onto the market and make sales?

How do we get people to come and buy it?

18 Joan June 18, 2009 at 9:54 am

Must nail this been at it since late December 2008 lots of ideas but need implementation. Will keep contact, thanks for your input always appreciated.

Hi lee,

from one Northern lad to another
“that wer right smashing that wer”

However i’m as green as a mans green bits when it comes to this selling info online

so just one questions really, where do you get the info to sell? what if i don’t have a niche market?
(ok that was 2 questions, but what the hell!)

as i say i am totally new to this I marketing lark so where do you source this info that people will want to buy?

i’am involved in the Energy saving market so do i look there ?
or i know an I.F.A he’s really switched on so could he sell his info online? (in fact i think he’d like that) his knowledge and my access to this type of Marketing? could that possibly work?

anyway you got me thinking now (which i guess is the whole point!!)

cheers Lee

Thanks everyone for the awesome comments!

@Michael – obviously there’s only so much I can cover in these videos. In my “Info Marketing Formula” mentoring course I’ll be walking you through the steps to creating your first product and then to selling it too.

@Jim – always nice to see long time customers on the blog!

And I’m SO glad that my methods were helping you build a profitable online business. That’s great news!

I totally understand what you’re saying about being uncomfortable “selling”. But if you really believe that your products and services deliver a positive result then you should never feel bad marketing them, as long as you do so in a ethical and honest way.

I understand your dilemma but keep in mind your responsibility is to accurately describe and sell the product – not to make people use it (though it would be nice if they did).

Weight Watchers don’t feel bad when they sell a slimming product and a person doesn’t use it and instead gets larger.

I hope this helps.

21 Rollie June 18, 2009 at 2:14 pm

Hi Lee,

thanks again for providing insights into your figures and how they relate to one particular product.
I understand your sales process was:
Freebie > Optin > Follow-up marketing > Back-end sales.

What you did not reveal is what products actually achieved that considerable amount in one month?
Would you care to share what it was?

Thanks & keep up the good work.

Cheers

22 Rollie June 18, 2009 at 2:48 pm

Lee,

I am currently starting out with the marketing of info products. I do see the benefits of having integrated systems … shopping cart autoresponder/follow up marketing affilate tracking/management system and I was wondering what solution you could recommend.
My dilemma is that while I could use e-jun-k-ie or 1.SC, I feel these solutions while cheap options (and therefore good to start out with), do not provide the same sophisticated integration to allow efficient (and therefore profitable) follow up marketing. On the other hand, I feel it would be over the top for me to spend a few $$thousand set up fee and $$hundreds per month on a system when I am only just starting out. I want to own the relationship with my affiliates, therefore affiliate networks like CB are not the right solution for me, either. I wonder how a simple shopping cart can interact wih a third party autoresponder, so that I can easily identify which prospects actually bought the upsell after opting in?

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Lee,.. as always.. you nailed it man! This video alone is worth paying for. actually I have several products that are great and offer fantastic features but I tend to overlook that and get distracted by all the other things instead of as you say ’stop faffin’ about’ and get cranking the products out. This is motivating stuff. Anyway..back to work and start making more money!
In this business (as any) procrastination is the killer!
Cheers!

Lee:
The information is very valuable, but I have a hell of a time understanding people from the UK and more so with those from Australia. This is unfortunate, but may be resolved if you provided a transcript online and if you spoke slowlier so that the language barrier can be brought down somewhat. Remember, you are speaking to the world, not just your own people.
I missed important parts of your presentations because of this.
Respectfully and sincerely,

Not an easy task you have, after creating product it consumes our time to make our product globally famous, marketing of products one of the most hard task to perfom.

This is very True Lee,

I have a 45 minute Internet Marketing Audio Video Interview that I did with Blog Talk Radio, that I give away on my Blog for FREE, maybe I should charge for it?

Be interested to know your thoughts on this one?
