Lee, another brilliant content rich video! I love your case studies.
I’ve been tracking in real time how long it’s taking me to write my new report. I’m at 1 hour and 56 minutes and it’s just about done.
Hopefully I can show folks it’s not as hard as they fear. It’s not like they have to write War and Peace here.
What a fantastic idea on the interviews. I have recorded several interviews and this video has really provided me with great tips on what to do with those!
Hi Lee,
Great video and tips.
My question is:
Why did you agree to do the interview with Jit? Is it because he has quite a number of people on his list?
I guess what I’m trying to ask is: what are the conditions or terms you’d look for before you’d agree to do an interview?
What happens if Jit does not even have a list yet? Are you still going to do the interview with him?
Thanks in advance
@ Alan – thanks for the positive feedback and I’m really glad you enjoyed the content
@ Welly – I actually invited ALL my webinar students to interview me if they liked and turn it into a product. It was an unadvertised bonus from the course.
Even without this bonus, and even though Jit doesn’t have a list, I still would have agreed. I like to help my subscribers where possible, and when someone has bought many of my products I always look for a reason to say yes.
In addition, he completely convinced me that he really would take action with the interview which is important.
Thanks!
Lee McIntyre
Hey Lee!
I just want to say that I think the video you created for your subscribers is a really great idea. Most people would not have taken the time to do something like that, because it isn’t something that is going to make them any money (at least directly).
Also, I am really glad to hear that you are so pleased with the product I have created. As you know, it was very important to me that we create a product that was not only filled with valuable content, but something that you could look at and be happy with yourself.
I really believe that creating an interview product is one of the best ways for someone to create their own info product.
First of all, it is probably one of the quickest ways to create an info product. Also, it is very easy to create multiple products from that single interview. For example, I strongly recommend recording the audio interview since this will produce an instant audio product. Then you can get the audio transcribed and turn it into an ebook. Now, the next step for me is to take a small portion of our audio interview and create a video. If that isn’t enough for you, how about using the content from the interview to create articles, blog posts, and autoresponder messages.
As you can see, there are many ways to use the content you get from doing an interview and it is also something that can be done very quickly which is why I strongly recommend that anyone consider doing something like this themselves.
When I have a little more time (I’m currently at an IM conference and I need to head over for the presentations), I will make another post and give some tips for anyone who is thinking about creating their own interview products. I’ve spent the past couple of days here telling people how easy it is to do and I am more than happy to help others who would like to create their own audio interviews.
Thanks again Lee.
Jit
Lee – Thanks for the explanation
Jit – Thanks for sharing and looking forward to hearing your tips again.
Lee, I really like the information that is in the video of your student putting togehter an ebook from doing yourinterview. It is right up the line of information that I was looking for. I had the same ideas this just helped me with my thought process. I am a newbie and I have been tring my — off reviewing and learning everything I can find and I find you and your efforts to be exactlly what I may need. I will stay in touch and I could really use a good mentor in this area. Thanks a million. Danny Anderson
I met Jit at the same seminar he was attending in Chicago this weekend and happened to be sitting next to him when he got this email and watched the video. He was very excited to see that Lee used his product for a case study review. It is a great little product and Jit did something many don’t. He took action.
Many people look for “secrets” and walk past the many opportunities that are around them every day. What Jit did was take an idea from Lee and took action by approaching Lee, doing an interview with him, created a product and monetized it. Jit took Lee up on an offer he made to everyone but he took action and made it happen. He made a product with great viral potential and monetized it further by including a link to Lee’s own book which Jit bought the rights to. That is very smart and a great deal for Jit.
Great example of another product idea that can be applied to any niche and you can quickly add to your income stream.

Hi Everybody,
As promised, here are some additional tips for creating your own interview products.
1. Use a service or product that will allow you to record the interview easily. For my interview with Lee I used Pamela for Skype (http://www.pamela-systems.com/). It has some great features and the sound quality was AWESOME! Also, fyi I purchased the professional version which sells for $24.95.
2. Make a list of people you would like to interview, but try to focus on people that would consider you to be a good customer or affiliate of theirs (Bob The Teacher deserves full credit for the affiliate idea. He shared that idea with us during his presentation at the Masters Seminar in Chicago.).
3. Convince the person that you want to interview that it will not be a waste of their time. Successful internet marketers are always being asked by people to promote their products and do interviews. Their time is very precious, so they want to make sure that it will be a productive use of their time.
Here are some tips that will help accomplish that. First of all, come up with a plan for promoting and marketing your info product. If your plan is likely to generate a significant number of new sales and subscribers, then the person you want to interview is likely to say yes. If you have a large list, then mention that. If not, come up with other ideas that will allow you to distribute your info product to a large number of people.
Also, allow the person you are going to interview to promote one of their products (ideally, I would suggest allowing the person you want to interview to make that choice).
4. Get your interview transcribed. This is a great way to turn one interview into at least two different info products (mp3 and ebook). Also, as I mentioned in an earlier post, you can create videos, articles, blog posts and autoresponder messages as well. The more ways you use the content from the interview, the more likely it is that the interview products you created will be considered a success.
And the more successful that interview product becomes, the more likely you will be able to secure future interviews with others.
Anyway, I hope you found those tips useful and will use them to help create your own info products.
Take care,
Jit
While I like your accent, I only heard about half of what you said, mainly because I can’t listen quite as fast as you can talk.
Since I seem to have your attention – did you hear of the dog that enjoyed playing poker? Just one problem – he was a lousy player. Whenever he had a good hand he’d wag his tail.
