Lee, Congrats on your MacBookPro purchase!

I do consider myself a Mac expert on its use and applications, please stick with me on these recommendations.

Your MBP is an awesome tool for Infopreneurs. Absolutely the best laptop you could get today. A few things you should have. First, get yourself a firewire backup drive that’s at least 1TB in size http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/. The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Aluminum is what you’ll need.

Your backup drive/clone should be twice to three times the size of your source HD. Second, get a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner, it’s free here http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html. Second, learn how to use Preview, Apple’s PDF reader application asap.

It saves all your text and eBook files FROM ANY APPLICATION to PDF without any additional software! The resulting output to PDF files are so pristine!

Preview also provides security options such as a password to open the document, copy text and printing. Lots of options there.

Also, make sure to get iLife and iWork. Keynote will become an awesome tool for you in creating videos for your Blog/websites and YouTube. Since the early 90’s Mac users have been really left out of the Infopreneur Product Creation Explosion.

I still see many .exe files and software for PC’s and not much for Mac’s. There’s an incredible opportunity here on the Mac platform. Third, get yourself a copy of one of the Virtual PC programs to load Windows on. If you’re really a hardcore PC user, you could get two separate drives for PC use.

One for XP-PRO SP3 and one for Vista. That way you can keep things separate, but have all the HD’s available on your desktop. Many times, I have four to six drives available for use.

Finally, to get you up to speed with all things Mac, check the Macsurfer news site out each day for half an hour or so http://www.macsurfer.com/. That will get you going full bore.

I don’t know much about selling on the web. But I do know my mac stuff backwards and forwards. Maybe we could JV on a Project for the Mac community. It’s an UNTAPPED MARKET! Let me know what I can do to help you as an honorable Mac Newbie.

That’s it for now. Best wishes for all your readers and please have an awesome start to your holiday season!

Best, Donnie Dixon from Boston, MA, USA.
