Hi Lee

Great advice as usual – you’re absolutely right it’s all about pushing yourself outside your comfort zone.

I have loads of things I am uncomfortable with but as you say every time I do one it breaks down a mental barrier and it’s much easier the next time to do it.

I still have some things I’m uncomfortable with, and next on the list is making a video. I’m going to take your advice & commit to having it done by Sunday evening.

Gulp!

Thanks again, great free content

Hi Lee, thanks for the video. it is so true, the need to step out of the comfort zone in order to grow. If one sits in front of the TV every night, nothing happens! I practice martial arts and the same rule applies in this area for sure. Glad to hear you conquered your fear of public speaking, well done. I think this must be a very common fear and it holds many people back from opportunities such as your own ventures. Keep up the good work. Regards Rene

Hi Lee

Just watched your video and thought it was excellent.

The idea of ‘Feeling the Fear’ and then doing it anyway is very important as it can help you grow in yourself and this will reflect in your efforts with your online business.

So everyone watch this and take your handbrake off!

Cheers

James

Hey
Lee That makes perfect sense lee.I will defently remember that stratigie.I think that’s brillant because we all hesitate with our inner fears. And yet that’s a great observation I will seriosly think that through. What do you think about using affiliate Marketing to test the Market & then create a product for my front end and use affiliate marketing on the back end.Does that make sense lee. I know I need to take action thanks for your in sight. You always come up with great ideas lee thank’s you

6 Kathy July 27, 2009 at 4:45 pm

This could not have come at a better time. I decided last night that it doesn’t matter what I DON”T know. I will learn by doing. I actually set up my site last night, there’s nothing there yet but it’s up. I feel like you have read my mind and the encouragement is appreciated. Thanks, Kathy

Like most things in life if you wait and put thing off the the opportunity can pass you by.
Once you have made that commitment be it personal or financial then you have made that first step on the journey.

The fear of death is root cause of all the fears.
The fear of loss associated with any enterprising is a major stumbling block in the road to development.Belief can only replaces the fear of loss. The more the fear the less the success.

11 Todd July 27, 2009 at 5:18 pm

That was a very good video Lee. I am glad I watched it.

12 Andrew Coates July 27, 2009 at 5:19 pm

Hi Lee
hope your’e feeling (and looking!)better

What you say is very true as i used to teach staff to promote Energy savings in supermarkets, which meant approaching total strangers and try to get them to switch suppliers

what i use to tell them was you will be scared until your not scared anymore and to see them overcome and make their first sale was a real good feeling.

As the book says “feel the fear and do it anyway”

Regards Lee

Andy

I can see how you’ve grown in confidence over the past couple of years, it definitely shows in your recent video presentations.

When I started my job as a computer salesman I was painfully shy and literally scared of talking to people – especially as I didn’t know the first thing about sales!

I quickly realised that I had to overcome my fear or quit my job there and then. Luckily my fear of failure outweighed my fear of embarrassment.

I didn’t know it at the time but because I simply talked to each customer as an individual and gave them what they wanted – I made sales.

I quickly became the top performing salesman in store – often selling twice as much as my nearest colleague! (and I still didn’t know how I was doing it!)

The point is once you’ve done “it”, whatever that might be, that activity no longer holds any fear for you which is a sure sign that you have grown!

Thanks Lee,

John Szram

Hi Lee
Great video produced by a great marketer.

Make sure you don’t burn yourself out, that would be a loss to all of us.

16 James Watson July 27, 2009 at 7:14 pm

Dude, tell us, where *do* you get the energy from?? :)

A ‘heavy’ Saturday night, a full day’s event, a long train journey and you can still manage to record a great video when you get home…

Thanks for the two great presentations you gave at the Workshop yesterday, they were both inspiring – Daniel and I were glad to meet you and we’re both looking forward to having a few beers and geting a load more value at your 2 day event in Manchester.

Cheers, James Watson

Lee, your videos are like no-one else’s. Thank you for sharing your human traits with us and not letting us imagine that you are from a different species – the invincible guru. It is refreshing to hear someone saying loud and clear that internet marketers have to overcome things too. Bless you! Hope the hangover isn’t to harsh.

18 Malcolm Hill July 27, 2009 at 9:49 pm

Hi Lee, thanks for being a honest guy, Just human like the rest of us. Oh by the way Lee a genuine and up front teacher at that, Keep up the good work

“Doubt of whatever kind, can be ended by action alone.”
Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)

Fear and doubt require immediate action and response. The icy grip of fear gets cracked when we move toward our goals.

20 Keith Purkiss July 27, 2009 at 11:11 pm

Hi Lee,

It was great to finally meet you after two years, and I’m sure everyone there agrees it was well worth going.

It’s hard to explain what it was like to those who couldnt be there and I came away with a lot of ideas and wrote blog posts and plans on the train home.

I didn’t expect you to make a video as soon as you got back after a long day, but I suppose it’s one of those things you have to do straight away while you still feel the buzz from the event.

Videos is the thing that would benefit me that is really stretching myself.

Thanks

Keith

21 Pearson Brown July 27, 2009 at 11:31 pm

I’ve been going to Internet marketing events for seven or so years now. I’ve seen some really good speakers, such as Jim Edwards and Fred Gleek.

I thought your presentation was probably the best I’ve ever seen in an IM context. Well done.

22 daryl July 27, 2009 at 11:47 pm

Lee, thought this video very useful. Many people ask where the energy comes from. It comes from the success you achieve when you keep taking action. thanks for the boost. Daryl

Great video, I couldn’t agree with you more, holding your self accountable to the world is the best way to make yourself do those things that you are worried & nervous about doing.

I actually live in Manchester, so naturally I’d love to hear more about this upcoming event. I’m sure you’ll keep us posted.

Take care,

33 Andrew Vaughan August 4, 2009 at 4:04 pm

Hey Lee,

Thanks for sharing this.

It’s really not surprising that you can now speak with authority – because with knowledge and understanding, comes confidence.

And as you no doubt already know, if you’re going to talk or present, do it about something you’re passionate about – then it’s relatively easy.

Keep up the great work,
Andrew.

34 seojr August 6, 2009 at 5:10 am

35 Barry Wells August 7, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Hi Lee, great videos and thanks for the info.

I’ve taken a leaf out of your book Lee and have created my very own ebook. It’s about easing the finacial squeeze that most people are under at the moment. It shows you how to research the market on ebay, along with setting up a shop, sourcing the products to sell from it, tips and techniques for successful listing.

Why am i telling you about it? I wanted you to know that i’ve taken action Lee.

Thanks again for all the help and encouragement Lee, you’re a TOP MAN.

36 Regina Bayma August 9, 2009 at 10:47 am

Its me again. I don’t fear anything but I don’t know everything either. I’m very interested in becoming an affiliate but here’s the problem: I don’t even know what JV means. Not computer savvy.

Can you help? Great video!!!!

Regina

Hi Lee,
This is so true, I’m sure there are many people who never realize their potential because they are afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone. It really does take that first step to break out of this and then I’m sure peoples businesses will grow so much quicker.
I have recently started making videos, and although i was nervous at first, it is now second nature and has become quite easy and natural to do. I never would have thought i would be doing this a year ago.
Cheers,
Paul

39 Ken Biddle August 13, 2009 at 5:23 pm

Hi Lee,
You are so right in what you say. Everyone must push themselves just that bit futher to have any effect. No one can motivate anyone else in the long term, true motivation comes from within but we all need that little extra push from time to time. Your video provides just that. The thing that always impresses me the most about your videos Lee is that you always seem so enthusiastic.

Excellent content Lee as usual

Regards
Ken

Hi Lee

Just subscribed to your Got Momentum Gold Member Training and for just $1 to get in and $18 for mailing list bonus I am keen to learn from you and get started. My favourite online marketers or affiliate marketers include Marlon Sanders, Soren Jordansen, Lee McIntyre, Simon Stepsys, Shaun Smith Andrew Reynolds, Ewen Chia and Ted Nicholas. I have bought product and training from all these guys and have learnt loads but now I want to put this together, create an online business of my own, create my first list and the more ‘automated’ elements of this business can be the better I feel so I have been looking at Clickbank Pirate which looks awesome, and perhaps using EasyProfitPack2.0 as I want a whole set of emails written for me with clickbank products to follow up with subscribers and monetize my list
I have suffered from Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Social Phobia so I find big public gatherings very awkward and public speaking would give me cold sweats but this can be overcome I know and I want more confidence and self esteem to get in the position to succeed in affiliate marketing and grow as a business and as a more positive, optimistic person…I really enjoyed your video and it’s comforting to know other people battle with fears of public speaking and ‘putting’ onself out there on a pedestal. Susan Jeffers, a leading UK self help evangelist & author offers excellent reading material on conquering ones fears in all manner of areas.

42 Eunice August 20, 2009 at 11:26 pm

Great content Lee,most of us what stop us from going further is what you spoke about fear.
Thanks
Eunice

Hello,
I’m pushing myself beyond my comfort zone, to write this comment. Lucky for you, Lee, you know you always have a downline of followers standing behind you, waiting for you to take the first step. I had to push myself to make my first podcast and also to publish my first website (formerly at websiteNow), so I agree with you entirely. By the way, do you ever use a “pen name” when pushing beyond your comfort zone?

44 Lani Gossett October 28, 2009 at 1:02 am

Hi Lee,
Thanks so much for the great content. You are right, of course. If there’s a deadline and someone is holding you accountable (or if you make a commitment to yourself) you are more likely to carry through. My problem on the internet is I get going, learning as much as possible, downloading tons of info, and then I back out at the last step when I could actually make some money. My website is still not set up, and I’m not sure how to start. I just made a commitment to teach a movement and music class to the kids at the local school, and I know I’ll do that. But the internet – how do I start!
Thanks, Lani
