I think this video is a refreshing business idea.
In life, most people in life try to be everything to everyone…this is a path to failure.
Great job pointing this out in business!
Cheers,
Brad Spencer
Good tip on how to go about nicheing down. You know what’s funny? I’ve heard you and others listing in your presales vids who a product’s not for, but I always thought it was a reverse psychology ploy. Or maybe a CYA; “I told you it wasn’t for you.” Guess there’s a much less “sinister” reason.
Thanks!
Hi Lee,
Just to say “Thanks” for more great advice!
I’ve been trying to make money online now for 9 months and not been successful at all. I’m hopeful that, in you, I may just have found a REAL “mentoring maestro!”
Sincerely,
Ian Chesser
Hey Lee great advice, I think honesty is important in selling a product as well if you tell them who it’s not for… those who are interested will have much more trust in you!
I’ll be sure to use this when I release my new product, thanks for all your help!
Thanks Lee,
I get great pleasure watching your videos and picking up on your tips and advice. Today hit home as I was looking into my new product launch and had no idea where to start – this helps immensely. Please keep on doing such great work. Thanks again.
Dianne
Lee,
Thanks for that little nugget! I have just gotten my web site but haven’t got my product out yet …this will help alot Thanks…mary
Lee, great info, and totally opposite of what would “seem logical”. It’s also good to know you’re a kindred non-bedmaker and not afraid to let people know, LOL. Keep the gems that are your videos coming, please!
Lee,
that is something I try to do, but it was good to hear it from the master.
Oh.. would I be correct in thinking you either live alone or with.. dare I say it… your parents :OP
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Narrowing down your potential audience does seem a little “backward” but it really does pay to provide specific solutions to specific problems.
@Karl – I actually live with 4 friends of my age in Newcastle, UK. It’s just a lifestyle thing and I REALLY enjoy shared living (we spend a lot of time playing Pro Evo on the PS3 and I always win
)
———————–
People often ask about my lifetstyle so let me explain a little…
I also drive a Skoda and NOT a Ferrari and my entire clothes wardrobe costs about $100 (mostly bought from Primary and Matalan).
This is how I like to live my life…though this might change.
It helps that this month we’re on track to do $110,000 in 30 days so it’s fair to say that my bank account is slightly positive.
But life is about what feels good not what looks nice and this is why I don’t mind sharing my unglamorous lifestyle
PLUS right now I do what I want when I want. I have a big amount of liquid cash sat in my current account and I’ll never have to answer to anyone every again.
This is something I cherish more than anything else.
Some people are motivated to have money because of the things it can buy.
I want it because it gives me freedom, choices, and control.
Neither way is right or wrong, I just like love the sense of freedom that I have each day and I wouldn’t swap this for anything. To me this is the dream!
Cheers

I see now that by specifying who your product is not for, not only will you increase the sales for your actual target market, but you are also increasing the integrity of both yourself and your product as you are showing people that you are not just trying to “blanket bomb” your product to any and everyone, but have made this product to help a specific person.
Thanks for the information. Will use it in the upcoming course.
Great stuff, Lee. Thanks!
you discribed TARGET MARKETING. & yes it is a good frame of mind to have bolted inside that head.I watched your vid & I even got more out of my over worked self & now have even more to put forth once my new newbie web site is up & going . HOPE things stay well RONald
It was not the glamour or lack thereof I was remarking on… although Id love to see a pic of you next to your Skoda (mum had one when I was a kid). It was the lack of feeling in the room, which is exactly how my whole house was when I lived in Spain.
Only a woman will change that… Now I and Fiona are together, our house is a lot different (no longer in Spain).
As for standard of living… we, Fiona and I, do very well (Fiona makes more than both of us put together), but our bedroom is 90% Ikea and I built our kitchen. The only thing that I know will never change is the amount of space I have in the bedroom compared to Fiona… currently I have 2 drawers in one of the 3 large (and I mean LARGE) cupboards and 1 draw from the 2 sets of 8 chests of drawers…. mmmmm… Can I move in with you lot mate.
Karl
PS I know you didnt get the wrong end of the stick and felt I was having a dig cuz you know I am not that sort of guy.
@Karl – I’m going to arrange a pic of my Skoda ASAP… it will provide a nice contrast with all the pics of flash cars!
You’re right – my room is VERY bare. I’ve not even put pictures on my picture frames yet!!
My long rambling comment was just a discussion on lifestyle and not a response to your post, it just fell underneath so I can see why you might think that.

SIDE NOTE ABOUT MY CAR
In the future I’ll buy a sports car but right now my rubbish Skoda is probably the most important thing I own.
It cost less than $10,000 and I bought it a year ago with no hassle and no fuss and with a simple cash payment.
That doesn’t sound like much but at the time I felt MASSIVELY happy with the fact I could casually buy a car with cash and not have to borrow money or even bat an eyelid.
My opinions might change but I’d much rather do this than be making payments on a $150,000 Ferrari (though I could buy one now if I wanted).
Right now I could get a $1,500,000 mortgage and easily make the payments. But when I buy a place in Newcastle my preference is to enjoy the feeling of buying something smaller and with cash (no mortgage).
This to me is ultimate freedom but I know it runs contrary to what most people would do if given a choice.
Ultimately money is there to help you live your dream. For me the dream is “freedom and choices”.
I never realised this until recently, but that’s what I crave and work so hard to achieve.
Sorry for the long comments… I’m in rambling mood I guess
Cheers

hi lee, i liked your video, and you are right about
the products no one thing can be for every one. i
hope you make more. high regards, charles d hart
How about some sub-titles. Can’t understand a word you’re saying.
Hi Lee!
I just discovered your website last week and this is my first time commenting!
How exciting!
Anyways, my name is Saiful Rizal and I run a personal development blog over at AskSaiful.com
After watching this video and some of the ones before this, I was inspired to see the difference you were making to my life and others, so I decided to do my own!
And wow! Such a great response! So many comments and gratitude emails from all over the place – blog, facebook, email everywhere!
Anyone who’s reading this, APPLY APPLY APPLY!
And Lee, I’d like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU so much for the inspiration and helping people like me keep the faith!
By the way, when you mentioned about Lifestyle I wasn’t surprised because you don’t look like the flashy type and the “show me the money!” kind haha
But I do have a question and I hope you could help me out with this :
How does your average day look like?
Are you always at the office?
What are the main activities you do there?
I’d really love to know more about your life – the internet millionaire’s lifestyle!
It will really help me and the others here visualize ourselves into that reality!
Thank you, Lee!
I believe because ICAN!
SaiF
P.S. I really love your style of marketing! It’s really soulful and full of love and in the best interest of your people! =)
Hi Lee, I like you leads a simple life (you look poor but very very rich. )
Hi Lee,
Interesting video that highlights a very important concept that most marketers DO NOT do, just like you pointed out.
Nice video as always!
Welly Mulia
PS. I’d drive a Skoda anyday to be able to exchange for your kind of lifestyle
Hi Lee – Short Video – but what a powerful message!
The best thing I took from it was the idea of explaining “who the product is NOT suitable for…”
This is pretty clever stuff.
Re – Lifestyle stuff – I can easily see your way of thinking right now…
In the past I’ve had the 50+ hour a week jobs, nice cars etc. Don’t have the cars anymore (but will do when funds allow!)
However the most important thing is freedom to conduct your life from the location you choose and when you choose.
This is the great goal of the Internet Lifestyle for most Internet Marketers I guess – you’ve achieved that very quickly.
Thanks for all your Videos,
Dave
Hi lee
l need a mentor,
I’ve been trying to make money online now for 9 months and not been successful at all. I’m hopeful that, in you, I may just have found a REAL “mentoring maestro!” and l need a visa card
for online marketing ps help me.
Sincerely,
victor.
Great video, Lee! And…you know what? Yes, in your last release, you made it clear that the product was NOT for me and that message DIDN’T drive me away. Subconsciously, I did exactly what you said. Realized it wasn’t for me and didn’t buy, BUT, it didn’t drive me away. I didn’t leave your subscriber list. You’re free content is good and I use what I can with my existing business. In fact, I’m rolling out a whole new site soon that’s going to absolutely blow a niche market away! And this video was VERY, VERY helpful! Thanks again!
Matt, one of your faithful subscribers
Hi Lee
Thanks once again, for another awesome video! What you’ve just shared is really a very important point, that all internet marketers (whether just starting out or experienced) need to think about. Marketing to the right target audience is so critical, which is what many marketers failed to achieve.
Keep your great videos coming!
Very informative video, something I have never thought of before but now realize just how much I have seen it being used by other marketers. Been following your blog for a while now and always find it a good read.
Mike.
Excellent information. Great Content. Thanks a million Lee. I love your great content you share for all of us to learn from. God Bless.
Hi Lee
I enjoyed the video, thanks.
It is important that businesses look inside their niche and target that smaller audience. It is too easy to get distracted so the secret is also to be focused on what they want to achieve.
Good stuff.
Aly
ps there is nothing wrong with having material goods, I have 2 houses in Newcastle and drive a new Jaguar XF. I’d rather enjoy my wealth than see the figures on the bank statement.
Each to their own.
Hi Aly – I TOTALLY agree.
In my view the purpose of wealth is to allow it to free you to achieve your goals.
It just so happens that my goal is total freedom and choices and I’m not that motivated by material things right now (though this will probably change at some point and I’m tempted by a new car).
If my goal was to have a Ferrari then I’d do that.
I guess the point is to enjoy the success you want without worrying about what people think you should want (if that makes sense).
I actually spend the same amount in my life as when I used to earn $30,000 per year as a teacher. Now I make that every 2 weeks. But I still spend roughly the same and still live the same life I love.
The only difference between now and when I was a teacher is now I answer to no one and come and go when I please, and do what I want when I want (plus I have nicer holidays!).
In my personal life I couldn’t be happier and wouldn’t change a thing.
Right now I wouldn’t change anything at all, with the exception that I’m thinking of buying an Aston Martin and replacing my Skoda!!
Cheers
Lee McIntyre
Great video full of top information.
You’ve done very well to explain the importance of identifying your ideal prospect, and then going a step further and actively excluding those people who do not fit the profile.
When you try to appeal to everyone you appeal to no-one.
I haven’t actually begun the course as yet but this sounds like very sound advice. Many thanks, Lee, and I look forward to the start of the course on Tuesday.
Hi Lee,
Ok, although this comment thread has been hijacked by lifestyle discussion I’d like to chip in too.
One of your products, internet lifestyle, hits on this very point. There’s no point getting into IM if you’re just looking to replace your 9to5 desk job with another job sat at home chained to your desk there.
The money is an enabler for your dreams and freedom. Have you been reading any Stuart Goldsmith recently? He makes this point very well …and often.
Sam
Gr 8 tip thanks for this wonderful tip.Its so true that we do go and market for all .
Looking forward to more video on such topics .

Sudeep

to me you rock as advice is not some guru double talk but a real person type of advice
Lee,
Go to bed, quit giving some your of good content away:)
Your freebies are mindset bullets. You are becoming your own guru. Believe me it is all good! I mean keep it coming TOP DOG!
Very simple, but very useful ideas! Thank you, Lee. By the way, I am from Oldham as well. And I am trying to establish my online business like you a few years ago. I have just started my blog . My next step is to learn how to do email list. I hope to learn it from you
Ha-ha Lee,
You and I seem to have a lot in common. You awake with a great idea. So-o-o true, that we often forget that we are trying to provide a “niche” product.
Keep it coming!
David
You’ve created an environment of learning & adventure outside of the physical realm. And, like the others before me, I’m priviledged to have stumbled across your path.
hey Lee – love the fact that you value freedom and choice above materialistics “things” makes so much sense and is great to know that not all the people with money in the bank feel that they have to show it off in flashy cars and clothes etc.
Love what you do and how you do it and also love the fact that you are in the UK – we need more guys like you over here – so much comes from the US so its refreshing to hear from a Uk guy in the crowd too
thanks
