Do you want to know the hardest part of being a full time Internet Marketer? Well for me personally the most challenging aspect is staying motivated and ‘on task’ each and every day.
When your business is speeding along and you don’t have anyone to give you a kick up the backside then it become easy to have a few lazy days. And if you’re not careful those lazy days turn into lazy months.
Let me share with you how I keep myself motivated…
In my business I set myself really tough targets and then make a decision on how I will reward myself when I reach that goal. You might have noticed my fancy looking apartment in my first face to face video.
The reason I was able to move into this nice home was because I had a double tough target, and I promised myself that if I worked hard and achived this goal I’d move into a place with a 20ft+ balacony with views over the city.
Had I NOT set the target and promised myself a reward then I have no doubt my business wouldn’t have grown as fast.
But setting yourself tough (but reachable) targets is only one half of the equation.
The second part of this formula is to constantly make sure you confront your progress on a daily basis….even if you’re doing rubbish.
Everyday I have James give me a sheet showing the sales for the prior day. If we’ve only done a few hundred dollars in sales in the prior day (it happens) then I still insist he gives me the sheet.
Why? Because confronting my reality in this way helps allows me to know exactly how my business is doing and what needs to be done to move it forward.
If you want to build your business faster then I strongly recommend that you do the following now…
#1 Set yourself a tough (but reachable) target that you can measure
#2 Set yourself a deadline when this target has to be achieved
#3 Confront your reality on a daily basis and make sure you spend at least five minutes per day looking at your progress to your target (even if it’s not going well).
If you do these 3 things today then you’ll grown your business faster as a result.
And this brings me nicely to my Ferrari chart…
I’m not sure if a Ferrari is actually what I would buy (maybe a boat instead) but below you can see an image of what I call the “Ferrari chart” .

Everyday I stare at this big fat ZERO and confront my reality. When the number gets to 1,000 (which will be HARD but we can do it) then I’m getting a Ferrari (or a boat).
This is my current goal and I’m going to work hard to achieve it. Follow the instructions above and create your own Ferrari/Boat/Debt Free/Working from home/ chart and you’ll get more done faster. I absolutely guarantee it.
And as a final thought can anyone guess what the number in the picture actually represents? Post your answers below now…

The zero, for me, would motivate me to add zeros to my weekly income…
Am I right?

Alright Lee - bloomin’ heck 2 comments in a day and Im NOT outsourcing these!
OK - this is a really good point made but something I had to learn when I was a kid which has stayed ingrained in me.
Allow me to explain…
You know I have cerebal palsy (no sympathy please) and going into hospital for 11 operations in my younger days I was often told by my old Mum…
“let’s get this out the way, get you through recovery and rehab - and we’ll treat you with something”
Now this “something could have been a Pizza Hut
(my Sis’ is Area Manager) or I recall a Amiga 500 computer (back in the day).
There were days when I just couldn’tbe bothered and got lazy and self indelugent but I quickly remembered the goal and the reward at the end of the tunnel.
This is what helped me make something far more important than money… my life.
And so now APPLYING the same strategy to my business I know I can achieve anything I want.
Listen to Lee if you are a subscriber of his.
The bottom line is it rests with YOU and only you to achieve success.
Grab it with both hands.
Regards
Ray
PS - As for the “0″ I presume you would need 1000 sales through your “funnel” as I presume $100 is the average spend of each customer based on your current conversions? Ferrari or Boat = £100k
just my 2 cents Lee.

I grabbed a quote from a movie the other day that is the total opposite of what you are on about,
“Set your expectations low to avoid disappointment!”
Do you reckon that there are actually some people out there who follow this uninspiring way of thinking ?

@Graeme - good guess but not quite!
@Ray - thanks for the nice post and some excellent advice as always (plus your reference to Amiga 500s took me back a little!)
@Miltski - I couldn’t disagree more with that quote!
Here’s one I prefer…
“If you don’t shoot you can’t score!”
Always reach for the stars and you have a chance of success. Never reach for the stars and you’re certain to fail.

The 1000 represents your goal for the number of memberships to your “Elite Mastermind Club”.

@Dr Michael Beck - SPOT ON!!
(that’s not the first time you’ve been “on the ball” on this blog either!)
Yep, I’m shooting for 1,000 members and that’s my goal.
I’ve had a big fat zero on my wall for the past two months. Tomorrow it will no longer be zero. That’s how I motivate myself.
Thanks for the post
