London Here I Come!

I’m dead excited as I’m just about to head out the door to London for the day to meet up with some other UK marketers. The only time I’ve been to London, since I was very small, has been to watch various football matches so I didn’t really get to see much of the city.
Having said that, today we’re meeting for lunch so I doubt I’ll get to see much of the city this afternoon either, but I’m still really looking forward to it.
The last time I was in London I was 22, with four friends, and watching Manchester United play football on a Sunday afternoon. We all went for a drink after the match before walking back to catch the last train back home.
Sadly, somehow we had missed the train by about two hours, and so were completely stranded. The worst part was that we were poor students and so couldn’t afford to get a hotel room and so had to sleep in the park for the night!
We were a bit worried about the slightly creepy looking people around (wouldn’t you be?), so decided that one person would stay awake all night and keep watch. Well, that might sound like a great plan but actually we were all asleep within ten minutes.
I lived to tell the tale, but I’ve NEVER missed a train since.
There’s something about getting a train from London to Manchester at 8am on a Monday morning, surrounded by business commuters while looking seriously scruffy and covered in grass stains, to make you always arrive at the train stop in good time in the future!
Today should be good fun, and fingers crossed my experience will be a bit more pleasant than my last visit to the capital.
Will I manage to catch the last train home? Will I end up with grass stains on my face once again?! Who knows, but feel free to speculate in the comments below….

London is a cool place, Back in the days, I use to go to there every month when I was living in Paris.
By the way, I’ve just added you as my stumble friends. You remineded me that I need to use Stumble more often.

Hi Franck
Thanks for the Stumble add.
Yes, London is a nice place - the tube is double confusing though!
In Manchester you have two choices . e.g go left or go right.
The London Tube was a bit more complicated, and a tad stressful too!
I looked like a proper tourist walking around with my giant underground map and slightly concerned expression LOL
Thanks for the comment!
