Mailing Lists Unleashed And Clickbank Craziness

Well, when I first started to write Mailing Lists Unleashed I really had no idea it was going to be as well received as it was. The feedback has been simply stunning, and I’ve never received so many nice emails and support tickets.
I’ve you’ve taken the time to send in a testimonial then I want to say a huge thank you! I know that this takes time to do, and it really is appreciated.
Now, those who’ve been following the progress of this book will be aware that after the pre launch it was my intention to sell on Clickbank for $37. Do you notice how I used the word ‘intention’?
Well, for reasons known only to them, Clickbank refused entry to the marketplace for Mailing Lists Unleashed. The reason given via phone and email was that Clickbank no longer accept products on the topic of list building.
I won’t repeat what my response to this was, as this is a family friendly blog, but I was pretty shocked by this to say the least!
I sold hundreds of copies of Mailing Lists Unleashed during prelaunch, and the refund rate was less than 0.5%, and the feedback was incredible. Yet this book gets blocked while the CB marketplace is full of tacky junk with refund rates way over 12% for some products…
Anyway, I didn’t stay angry for long as there’s nothing that can be done to change it, so instead I pushed on and created an affiliate program using Paydotcom instead.

I had the same problem with my Boomerang List Builder software. I launched on the Thursday and made over $3,000 worth of sales through CB, then on Friday, without warning my payment buttons stopped working.
As it was Friday and they don’t work weekends I had to wait until Monday to sort it out. I got the same reply as you, they are having legal problems with people selling mailing list related products so they had no choice but to de-list.
I moved over to 2Checkout for the payment system and now use an in house affiliate program.
It would be interested to find out what the problem is with mailing list products on CB.

Hi Dan
Andrew Stark mentioned via email that Michael Cheney also had his list building book rejected by Clickbank.
It seems strange that they would have a spot of legal bother, and then just block all future books on any related topics.
I remember the problems you had and was amazed you stayed so calm through it all!
