For the past month I’ve been spending 5 minutes per day experimenting with some brand new list building techniques.
I’m only just getting warmed up but you can see the results below…

Can anyone guess what I’ve been doing that’s enabled me to build this tiny list with less than 5 minutes work per day?
It’s nothing revolutionary and really it’s something VERY simple that I should have done a long time ago.
Post your guesses below. I have 5 copies of Mailing Lists Unleashed to give away as prizes.
I’ll leave this open for a few days and then I’ll award a copy of my best selling book to the people with the best answers.
Good luck and enjoy!

Well if wasn’t something you did everyday, then I’d have mentioned the fact about the new AWeber Lightbox Hover. The option I’ve thought about testing over on Mark-McWilliams.com but haven’t really done so as I don’t wish to irritate any of my visitors!
There’s also the option of you submitting a new video to YouTube, or a similar site. But then, it could be you’ve submitted a couple of articles to article directories.
OK, I’d be interested to see exactly what you do! And what some of your other readers have to say, you’ve got me pondering!
If I happen to win a copy, give it to someone else! I already have a copy, and feel someone else would benefit from it better than myself bagging another copy!… HEHE
Thanks
Mark
My guess: Submitting videos to video sites such as YouTube, Google Video and MetaCafe

Well, my guess will be: implementing social media tactics.
Lee,
The main strategy is Marketing Tips of the Week and video is the main media on YouTube, Goole Video and MetaCafe etc.
Thanks for the guesses everyone!
ALMOST there but not quite
I’ll give it two more days, and if there’s no more answers I’ll award the prize to the closest effort.
Cheers!

The best think that I have found has to be giving away something (software, training, info, etc) that has real value to your subscribers – something that solves a problem that THEY are having.
Looking forward to more GREAT discussions, Lee!

Hmmm…I’m grasping at straws since you talk about 5 min/day for this action.
1. Setting up your RSS pings with something like pingomatic.com? [which reminded me to go and do the same]
2. Twitter? Video?
Almost there!
What I’m doing really isn’t that exciting but it’s proving effective. I’m upto 550 new subscribers in 30 days and this has been a 30 min (at the most) project.
Anyway, I’ll be posting the answer over the next few days.
Cheers!

Here’s a thought: It’s all about FREE INFORMATION. Not so much about here’s a video or case study or report…but the fact that its FREE. With the “downturn in the economy,” the word FREE is a huge attention getter.
You set up a page with a download link.
You send a quick email to us subscribers.
We turn around and let others know about your freebie.
A few well placed links or submittals to the right websites (twitter, youtube, etc.) and…
BOOM. Traffic starts to flow and the list is built.
Probably too much time involved with that. More like 3 hours for that…at least for me. A more seasoned person probably could do it in 30 minutes or so…
@ Mike – that is something I do a lot, but it’s not how I built this little list.
BUT that’s a killer strategy that works super well
Cheers
