Niche Marketing Madness and a Quick Slap Please

I’ve been so focused on my Internet Marketing business that I’m pretty sorry to say that I’ve completely neglected many of my small niche businesses.

Don’t get me wrong as some of my niche sites are on fire, but I have to say that I’ve been missing a lot of golden opportunities lately and I’m not happy about it.

For example, I was shocked today to notice that I’ve been averaging over $150 a day just from one Classroom Management book, and I haven’t even looked at the site in months and so I was amazed to see how many sales it was generating.

I knew I was getting a few sales per day, but I was a bit stunned to see quite how many I was actually selling.

Even worse is the fact that I’ve been getting loads of optins per day too and I haven’t sent a newsletter for months.

I know most marketers will spend their time bragging about how great they are, but I have to admit that I’ve messed this up a tad.

Yes I’m making plenty of sales, but I should be making so many more. I should have backend products that generate the bulk of the profits, and I should been sending regular newsletters to my list too.

I know that I’m making $150 a day in passive income from this site, but with a bit of TLC this could easily be increased threefold. So can someone please give me a slap and tell me to do something with this site please?

The good news is that I have a few other niche businesses and lists that still send me plenty of income per day, and even when I’m guilty of not following my own advice, the income they produce is still enough to keep me semi happy I guess.

Since I’ve not done anything with this site for 6+ months, is this $150 a day gained, or $350 a day lost? What do you think?

    OK, you did ask! ;)

GET THAT FINGER OUT AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

I would say that it’s $350 lost a day! Although, I’d love just to have the $150 a day coming into my Clickbank account!

So, without doing anything with the site for 6 months, you’ve lost around… $63,500 …if my calculations are right!

    Tut tut! :D

    Thanks
    Mark

I’ll take the positive site and say you’re up $150/day if you hadn’t made time to set these things up while you were busy making money with your other sites. Of course you could add a VA to your team to help you multiply those profits ;)

I’m on the ‘glass is half-full’ side. $150 a day is great money for a site that you left alone for a while.

If you want to add in bonus offers now then great, but certainly don’t focus on what you could have or didn’t do. Focus on what you DO have. And that’s a tidy $150 per day x 6 months = $27,375 for virtually no work.

    Now THAT’s passive income!

    Lee,

    I’d say you gained.

But not $150 a day. You’ve just had an “ah-ha” moment that WILL increase your bottom line tremendously, should you act on your discovery of course.

That’s the beauty of this business. Every mistake made yields potential profit if you learn from it, and opt to change it.

Now you know, and I’m sure you’ll do something about it to turn the $150 days into $350 days.

    Lesson learned!

Ahh… The power of positive thinking ;)

    All the best,
    Brian Jinks

Ok yes, I’m upset with you!

I’m trying to launch clickbank sales, but can’t break the 1 sale a day average! And I’m sending out a whole series of auto responders!

I’ll be glad to market the back end to your list for 50%

Lee, I give you until Tuesday Jan 29th 2008 to have done the following:
    1. Review the website and tweak at least two things to improve sales.
    2. Write three follow-up emails that will be sent to your new customers, spaced out over the next two weeks.

Have fun spending the $60,000+. Oh, by the way, if you do meet these targets and achieve the $60k+ extra income I only require a 10% commission

Hi Brendan - As for reviewing the follow up emails….I’m really serious when I say that I can’t even remember what the heck is in the emails!

I have an AR series that lasts for close to a year for this site, but I wrote it in May and haven’t looked since.

It seems to be working but maybe I should just have a quick look at it!!

    Hi Tevin

If you search on Warriors you’ll see that I was asking for advice on how to do this product in April. I didn’t have a clue, and my sales page was even ripped to pieces.

I guess the moral is that even though it wasn’t a success at first, it still came good in the end.

Don’t give up and you’ll be amazed at how fast things can mushroom.

The problem I have with these sites is that I just don’t have enough spare time. My eBay teaching sites are taking up oodles of effort due to a tech problem I discovered, plus I’m trying to finish off my next project too.

If someone could invent 25 hour days I’d be fine!

In all seriousness though….I really do need to do something about this.

I could have a backend DVD made and ready for market in 3 days, and I’m sure this would help me treble the profits.

    Thanks for the telling off!

Hey man, try outsourcing various things. As kong as the net result is more profit than it’d cost to outsource it you’re in good shape.

    Hi Lee,

Pity my cash is all tied up at the minute

Otherwise I might be tempted to take it off your hands. You know it’d be a weight off your mind!

I wonder just how much you could sell that business for? Hmmm…

Hi Lee, how is this one coming along? I know Project New Web has probably kept you a little bit busy, but you owe it to your customers to keep improving delivered value.

    Hi Bredan

The site in question delivers incredible value, but the problem is that I just don’t have enough time to maximise my profits.

I’ve decided to let this site run on autopilot for a while as my efforts are best served elsewhere.

The plan is to tidy it up a touch at Easter and then flip it on sitepoint.

I have a few sites like this, and in an effort to streamline my operations I’m going to be selling a few of the older ones shortly.

John, get your cash. ANY cash…and head over to Sitepoint when Lee starts selling them! You might pick up a bargain… ;)

Either than, or make an offer now that Lee cannot refuse

It would save him the effort of tidying it up and allow him to concentrate on more pressing matters.

What do you say Lee? Would you accept offers beforehand?
