Why I’m Not Promoting Traffic Secrets 2…(No Seriously!)

This isn’t some lame blog post where I say that I’m NOT promoting Traffic Secrets only to then reveal that I am actually promoting it after all.
I’m really not promoting this course and I don’t care if people thing I’m crazy.
Here are some things to consider…
1) I have a pretty rabid and responsive set of subscribers and if I promoted this course I know I’d be looking to pocket several thousand dollars
2) I could send one email and earn more than what I made in a WHOLE month when I was a teacher
3) I could get some marketing kudos for doing so and leverage this to grab more joint ventures in the future
So why the heck am I not promoting when there are so many advantages to doing so?
Well if you’re a member at Standing Start Profits you’ll know that my business philosophy isn’t to look after MY interests. My goal is to look after the interests of my subscribers instead.
I’ve demonstrated time and time again that if I always put the interests of my members ahead of my own then I’ll end up increasing my income as the goodwill generated comes back in spades.
If your primary focus is looking after your own interests you can of course make some cash. But if you put the interests of your subscribers ahead of your own then you WILL make more money in the long term. I guarantee it.
So why don’t I think it’s in the interests of my subscribers for me to promote this course?
1) Every man and his dog is promoting so the last thing my members need or want is one more email from me
2) I’ll be honest and say the course just doesn’t excite me and I won’t be buying it (I’m sure it’s good but I found the build up videos boring and a bit hype filled to be perfectly honest)
3) I haven’t personally reviewed the content (I’m sure it’s great but I don’t want to put my name to something I haven’t personally used )
In summary I’m sure Traffic Secrets is a fantastic course that’s packed full of value. But it just doesn’t excite me so I won’t be promoting it.
Yes I could make a lot of quick cash by doing so, but I’d rather look after the interests of my subscribers today and take a long term view, even if that costs me money in the short term.
Whatever market you’re involved in I suggest that you also always put the interests of your subscribers ahead of your own and the money will eventually flow faster than you thought possible.

GREAT tip Lee, but it’s just like you’ve always said from the start really!
I only checked my emails for the first time today just over 2 hours ago, and I’ve already received around 6 emails! - I must admit, I did check out what some were offering as a bonus…and some of the products did tempt me!
(Everyone’s probably tempted when they see something they like!)
Anyway, still trying to upload WP 2.6 to have a look around. FileZilla is playing up yet again, so I have to take things real slow!
Thanks
Mark

Good answer Lee.
Some people even asked me if I was promoting it as they would want me to get the commission. My answer is no for the same reason you have stated here (specifically #3). I haven’t reviewed it so I can’t sell it. I can’t imagine promoting anything if you haven’t USED it yet (that is more than just reading it).

It’s a fair one Lee - there’s definately a promo snowstorm going on around it! - some nice cherries in the later videos though I thought)

Yes Lee I definitely see where you’re coming from.
My other fake email account that is used to sign up to these “gurus” lists is filling up with this traffic secrets 2 promotion emails.
Luckily it’s one I seldom check

Lee.
you are right, I already get 12 emails about it and as a potential customer when I get too many emails about same subject this turn me off. Needless to say, I got 8 of them with the identical title “buy it from here for FREE…” (this means I must pay TD product but they will give me some ebooks - which I already have it - for FREE) It is hilarious!

Way to go Lee. I respect that you are standing by some principles. I have bought several of your products and like the way you do business.

“I haven’t personally reviewed the content”
Good point Lee, I admire your stance on this.
I’ve found the vast majority of the bonuses offered on this launch to be pretty disappointing.
In my case, I was buying it anyway so I just wanted to search out the best bonus (I went for Ed Dale’s BTW) but I’m sure you could’ve put together a nice “bribe” and helped some of your subscribers at the same time.
People are happy to buy through certain links if they trust the marketer offering the bonus. I took the time today before I bought to email one marketer I like to see if he was offering anything. He said he wasn’t promoting so I went with Ed.
So, what I am trying to get across is, you could’ve said to your subscribers “if you are going to buy this course, here’s what I can offer you for going through my link”.
Although many consider this kind of launch and the huge avalanche of emails a bit OTT, some of your subscribers probably would have thanked you for helping them make a decision.
However, I am a sucker for this type of launch - probably worse than most - so feel free to disregard!

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments as always.
@Ben - I actually agree with the points you make. You’re right that I would have helped some subscribers with their decision, but for a variety of reasons this launch just didn’t excite me.
If I’d decided to buy I would have considered the approach you outline above.
@Jerry - yeah promo snowstorm is one way to describe it!!
Thanks everyone.
While I’m not taking part in this launch (as a promoter or a consumer) there’s still a lot to be learnt from the process. Personally I just find the bonus wars a little ‘creepy’ but that’s just a personal view.
